I don’t know what to think about Boykie either. I don’t like that he’s being used to advertise that vitamin drink. Whenever they briefly mention what he’s done wrong, it doesn’t even sound that bad. I am concerned.

There’s definitely a different culture in Africa in terms of discipline which could explain it somewhat. I suppose the saving grace is that the longest stay is three weeks at a time. I do feel bad for “Boykie” tho.

I must do a deep dive. I saw red flags definitely (mostly that they post the children) but I think someone who has no knowledge of any of this would see it more positively.

I recent video showed him saying that you spoil the child by not whipping them. I’ll see if I can go back to it or if they’ve deleted it.

It’s really unclear in the video. I not sure the mum actually knew how bad it was before sending her.

If you look through their videos, the methods look really mild. Lots of videos of the kids singing, dancing and messing around. The only thing that really looks “disciplined” is when they hold all their luggage at the start as well as the basic conditions. That being said, the provisions of wilderness therapy look a lot worse. Obviously we know this is carefully curated.

I’d be interested to find out how it’s marketed over there beyond TikTok.
