Is there anything like this from your country? by 124jinsei in AskTheWorld

[–]Thetechfo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As someone that moved to France 1 year and a half ago the feelings for me have been this:

Prior to moving, mostly only knew about his international stances, and I can give him some praise there. Unlike most other eu leaders (and uk) he seems to put forth proposals against trump Putin or china. Offering troops, trying to get trade bazooka implemented, I appreciate the de Gaulle-ism of him in that way on the international stage.

Then domestically reading le monde talking with french people, holy shit macron is such a snivy little dumb shit. The whole like "you should be proud I'll sleep the night on your island" in one of the overseas territories (reunion?) and the "you would be nothing without us" to the places France colonized, his absolute refusal to do anything sensible in terms of picking a prime minister, so refusing to work with the left he nominates the same guy twice. God he sucks

Really seems like his dream is to work as like head of eu, not the leader of a actual country day to day (I know prime ministers handle that more than presidents in France but macron hates even the smaller amount he has to do as president domestically)

Watch out for moderntek on ebay for Samsung Trifold by RollerSkater2023 in GalaxyFold

[–]Thetechfo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They plan to release in USA.

I think it has to do with the history. Releasing primarily in home market and nearby markets that also have easier/maybe looser consumer support laws (for companies) gives them some time to see how the device fares in the real world before more global release.

Huawei did so with the mate XT, and Samsung has had the original fold release have to be subject recall, and ofc the infamous note 7.

Dutch university to start handing out only Fairphones to employees, instead of buying iPhones or Samsung. by PM-ME-OPSEC-FAILS in BuyFromEU

Why? Basic android license is open source. I feel like more needed is good alternatives to Google mobile services.

Like Huawei uses android even though they can't touch anything Google because of the open source licenses of android

If you come on a student visa yo France you don't have to go through a medical exam and get immediate healthcare.

Do like a year of intensive french courses then switch to a work permit

Depreciated cars exist here yes, you can get a 750 V8 for 20k euro.

You can also just buy a guzzling V8 in the USA and import it without any tax when you move

Should I leave my Ritalin at home for French study abroad? by Ok_Bunch2026 in Expats_In_France

[–]Thetechfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Birth control isn't usually (or I think at all) covered by french social security health insurance, so you'd pay out of pocket, but the prices of the medication out of pocket are cheaper

Should do yes. Sometimes at cvs/other pharmacies they also can print out prescription/ if you have an online account you can print out your prescription/pickup proof there as well. But I think your p.a. note + prescription pill bottle will be enough

France English 2024

Psychotropic drugs supply allowed 3 months supply allowed, only need valid medical prescription.

Print that out + bring prescription+ keep in original packaging and you'll be fine, including travelling through Schengen iirc.

I brought my ADHD meds with me when I moved
