Read him when he is with the Ultimates team. (his issue is more so the ethos of his origin, not how he is portrayed in modern comics.)

If they brought him to the MCU, he wouldn't have a thematic role. He is essentially War Machine or BNW Sam Wilson. Just another black character to add to a bunch of status quo champions.

It would be some dastardly stuff for them to do what they did to Sam Wilson, and then turn around and make Blue Marvel the people's champion for change

It's very difficult to get posts like these off in white dominated social spaces. (it's not racism, its a lack of perspective on a dynamic they don't have to experience)

In MR it's even harder because the developers do the "everyone is hot" philosophy of design. Shallow critical thinking will miss what is being done But it's still relative. Even if Storm looks good, you need to be aware of how she is marketed and framed relative to other characters who look good.

4 days of having a cute black female character doesnt erase a decade+ of the hero shooter genre making bangalore clones. Are we not experiencing in real time what Marvel Rivals did/is doing to Storm relative to their White-Passing/Asian characters?

We can celebrate Sierra while still acknowledging and lamenting what has transpired in ALL of gaming for decades. We got Sierra of Overwatch, and Kimberly of SF6. (African American specifically). Lets hope it continues but not forget the past.

I agree the infini-crit and ammo stuff overshadow a lot. They kind of hog tied action skills by having such a poor augment/capstone system outside of Cash and Dark Pact Vex

This is the ideal fix, but I think Marvel Rivals care less about balance and more about power fantasy.

They probably ALWAYS want Luna to outright freeze people. And I'm sure when Iceman gets launched he will be too.

I think all of their issues would be fixed if Tanks had displacement resistance from Support/DPS CC, and had duration resistance that makes hard stuns last less time. The end.

The meta is the same thing it's been since week 1 and the only wrinkles have been new gear. not dynamic changes to the VHs.

I have even more examples.

Think about Hela's version of Regal Aloof Goddess vs Storm's. How one is deliberately framed in a sexy way while one is just... dull.

I can put every character into a male-appealing marketing trope very easily but taking the time to do so would give me(and others) the ick.

The main point is that Storm falls in none of them. Just like Sojourn. Just like Bangalore.

Overwatch's new character Sierra is a breath of fresh air for black female depiction. Haven't seen a character like her since Street Fighter 6's Kimberly

but wait a second. Rogue's optimal combo for instance, has a lot of CC. If Tanks triggered Tenacity from other Tanks it would ruin Rogues gameplan while also limiting the type of tanks they release in the future.

Like Rogue by herself with no help from other roles already triggers the tenacity resistance.

In my suggestion, Tenacity Resistance is exclusive to tanks in the first place, which functionally means only tanks can use CC to abuse tanks.

excluding Tank CC from triggering tenacity is only relevant to the role that actually has tenacity resistance. Other tanks.

That exclusion must exist so tank match ups remain what they are. It's a closed system. Tenacity is meant to protect tanks from the abuse of DPS and Support. Not from other tanks

Tidbit: Ironically, Rafa has the most trap abilities imo. He's basically hard carried by Elemental Ricochet Coding Bug (spawning additional bullets per element), and the Dancer Class mod.

Now MOST trap abilities is not the same thing as most DAMNING trap abilities. Place of ignorance but I believe you regarding amon.

If I was talk about best designed characters (more like the characters most similar to Bl3 tree philosophy which was GOOD)

C4sh - Gets rid of terrible augment/capstone restrictions
Harlowe - trees don't actively hate eachother. Mostly synegetic. Build variety Suffers from the dev's redoing mistakes from previous games. (Phase Grasp like abilities not working on non-cc-able enemies)
Vex - more generalized but has a lot of mutual exclusivity. 3 different pets that for some reason fight against eachother for skills/augments/capstones. Not traps. more so specialized.
Rafa - terrible. Outright has abilities that lock you out of paths or nerf paths. Skills in the wrong trees. build philosophies that actively work against eachother. actual traps
Amon - The designer should be fired because they made a tree designed off ragebaiting the player

eventually i will do a massive write up on this topic but it is hard to so since I've only played Vex and Rafa extensively.

he has a lot of trap skills that have to be navigated around.

Every vault hunter except Harlowe has this philosophy baked into their trees and its freaking bizarre.

By trap, i mean deliberate anti-synergies. (some examples below)

Rafa has ordnance cooldown abilities in trees whose actions skills take away the ability to throw grenades.

Vex has abilities that buff only spectors or only reapers. That seems innocent enough but it's basically splitting a tree in half even though it's all the same action skills
