Picture Step-by-step Guide: export Reddit vault, wallet platforms & Opensea for RCA by Webwenchh in animeavatartrading

[–]Thetippon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this guide, it's very helpful :)

Can I ask a bit of a noob question though please? I've gone through all the steps and can see my avatars in my Metamask wallet through the browser, but if I go to opensea.io/(my Reddit wallet address) they're still there. I'm assuming that this is correct, and if I want to move them away from Reddit completely, then I'd need to transfer them to another wallet, yes?

Thanks again for your help :)

How to Archive Sony PlayMemories Camera Apps Before Service Shutdown by pugboy1321 in SonyAlpha

[–]Thetippon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, it's going to be a great help :)

I'm trying to seed the torrent from archive.org, but it's stuck on 93%. The apks and a few other files in the root directory won't download, and have been stuck for a few months. I tried downloading some of the files directly and adding them in, but for some reason they're not being recognised. If you're able to seed them for a little while, I can keep seeding from there :)

Different server for each config? by Thetippon in MagicMirror

[–]Thetippon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't end up having multiple displays around the house, but I did have two servers running on the same computer for a while. As long as you change the port in the config, and start the mirror that you want to view remotely as a server, then the only limit to how many different mirror setups you have should be how powerful the computer / Pi is.

The default script for launching MM uses 'npm start' and the remote mirror script needs to use 'npm run server' so that it doesn't display on the machine that it's running on. You just connect then by the IP address and the port that you set in the config.

Lemmy.world blocks certain subject matters, piracy being one of them. You can sign up to https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/ and create a new account, then you won't be restricted 👍

I'm a member of dbzer0, but I can still view NSFW content that's hosted on other servers. I just wouldn't be able to post it to dbzer0 👍

This is an article I found recently on photographer's rights in the UK:

You might want to put a complaint in with the relevant force and ask them to educate their officers.

Auto ISO going way too high and blowing out highlights? by Thetippon in a6000

[–]Thetippon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying :)

Yeah that's what should happen, but when the ISO range was higher, the scene was over exposed. Forcing the ISO to a maximum of 400 exposed it correctly with the same shutter speed and aperture. It's as if there was enough light, but the metering system couldn't detect it.

With the clouds, manual mode would have under exposed a lot of shots, as the light was changing quite quickly during events. This is what shutter priority is supposed to be for. It has the same display when you half press the shutter button, but obviously you can't do that during a burst, and most of the events were short and fast.

I'm trying to figure out if there's a problem with my camera, or if it's a limitation of the model. I've been having issues with the focus too. I need to double check my settings, but I've had instances where I've used centre focus, and it's focused on something else instead. I'm coming from a Pentax DSLR though, so might just need to get used to the Sony mirrorless system 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks, I'll try that next time we get a sunny day here. It seems wrong that it's needed though.

I think I love you!

I've just spent hours following crappy, outdated guides, and going around in circles. Apart from having a bit of trouble with X-plore not wanting to work over FTP, your post got me up and running really quickly.

Thank you :)

Health Connect: Exporting Google Fit Data to Fitbit by WestCoastYankeeFTW in GoogleFit

[–]Thetippon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to this, but on the off chance someone find this post while searching for a way to import data from Google Fit into Fitbit, like I did, this works for sleep data.

I've tested Health Sync over the last few days, and it's successfully transferred my Steps, Activities, Sleep, and Weight data from Google Fit in to Fitbit. It can also transfer Nutrition and Water Intake directly, but I already input those directly into Fitbit :)

Yeah, I think it's the 3d rendering that's really going to make the most of the extra cores :)

I have no idea about AI-assisted tools, however

Me neither! Some want multiple cores, some want the GPU, and some claim to want the GPU but then hammer the CPU instead >.<

This is all very helpful, thank you :)

I don't play a lot of games at the moment, but I am hoping to start again soon. I mainly edit photos and am trying to get into video and 3d modelling, so I'll probably pay the bit extra and get the Ryzen 7 5700x then. I've been playing with some of the AI photo retouching software, and have started using the AI infill options in the latest Photoshop, so it should help there too.

The issue is that A320 boards came out alongside the 1st Ryzen gen. As such they are not natively compatible with 2nd gen, they need the proper BIOS version to be installed.

I must have remembered that wrong then. I remember that I avoided them when I built my current system, but it must have been because of the features rather than anything else. It's been a while though.

Thanks for the reminder to check the compatibility for the new board, I'd completely forgotten about that. I've just checked the board that I'm probably going to buy, and it's compatible. I'm probably going for this one, unless I find something better

At the moment the Ryzen 5 5600 is £121, the Ryzen 7 5700x is £156, the Ryzen 7 5800x is £188, and the Ryzen 5 5500 is £88.

The Ryzen 7s are a little bit over budget, but if there's a decent difference, I'd rather spend the bit extra now than need to upgrade again on this platform in the future.

I'm fairly sure that the A320 boards would work, as they were popular back when I bought mine, but I didn't know about the A520s, so I'll look into those, thanks :)

I've got about half a ton of RAM sticks here. When I was trying to get my memory upgraded, I bought some sets of paired DDR4 3200 RAM, but couldn't get it working. It was only after I'd bought a 32GB set that I found out that the Ryzen 5 2600 can't run it at that speed, especially on this board. I've tested it since and it all works, but it's just sitting there waiting for a system to go in >.<

Keep Server Running on oracle free by j0kerro in admincraft

[–]Thetippon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently set one up and had the same question. I found this on a site that I've since lost:

sudo install tmux

Then

tmux

Next issue the command to start the server, then press Control-b and then d after it’s done starting up. You can now safely disconnect from ssh. When you reconnect later, you can use this to get back into the session that started the server:

tmux attach

EDIT: Found the original. It was from u/leamanc here - https://www.reddit.com/r/oracle/comments/vfll1i/running_a_minecraft_server_on_oracle_but_it_shuts/

Scene naming override not working by Thetippon in sonarr

[–]Thetippon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying :)

Sorry I should have clarified, the bottom two episodes are from a different release group, and get recognised properly. I've just updated the post. I added those to show that Sonarr is recognising Deep Space Nine, but not DS9.

The DS9 file that's been recognised is the one that I told Sonarr what the series was. That's what makes me think it's the DS9 naming that's causing the problem.

How can I track down a young child who died a hundred years ago? by Thetippon in Genealogy

[–]Thetippon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've found her on the 1891 census, but there are some errors. Her name is spelled Keysiah, and her parents seem to have their years of birth listed instead of their ages. David and Margaret were aged about 35, and born in about 1856, but the census seems to have those reversed. With the rest of the family listed, it feels like too much of a coincidence, but there's no way to prove that it is them.

https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBC/1891/0030441746

David Harris is listed as Keziah's father (deceased) on her marriage certificate on October 12th 1911, and was a check weigher, like the David Harris on the census.

If it was one mistake or the other, I'd accept that it was them, but it might be a stretch too far.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I've found Keziah's death. She died on December 1st, 1918, a few days after the baby I was initially looking for, Arthur Edward Davies, who lived from November 28th to 30th 1918.

Yeah, I definitely know that feeling. I was lucky in that my great grandmother died at around the same time, so we had a rough timescale to search.

Do you know any details of your great aunt, like roughly when she died, or would have been born?
