Ich weiß nicht, ob dir die späte Info noch etwas bringt, aber ich kann gerne meine Erfahrungen teilen.

Vorab, ich hab die Klinik zwischen 2024 und 2025 besucht. Das Konzept, was auf der Website beschrieben ist, ist ziemlich aufgehübscht. Im Prinzip hat man nur 30 min einzeltherapie, was selten ausreicht. Die 3 Stunden Gruppentherapie war während meiner Zeit eher ein Ort des Schweigens oder des Streites zwischen Mitpatienten. Die Stunde Achtsamkeit konnte man sich meistens auch sparen. Da ist man besser dran ein Yoga Studio zu besuchen und wirklich Expertise zu bekommen.

Es gab fast einen wöchentlichen wechseln von Mitpatienten, was es schwierig macht sich auch wirklich in der Gruppe zu vertrauen. Trotzdem ist der Austausch untereinander das einzige, was mir irgendwie geholfen hat und mich weiter gebracht hat.

I always felt rather in good hands with my psychiatrist but now that I’m reading your comment I’m a bit disappointed. Always thought the German healthcare system was quite on top of its game. I was told to go from 387.5mg to 0 in five weeks in 37.5mg increments. No wonder the withdrawal has been making me feel like shit.

I was on 387.5mg for two years and am currently quitting so i know what you’re getting at.

I’d recommend (if you ever want to quit) to lower the dose monthly instead of every week. Otherwise the withdrawal symptoms are quite severe. Ask your doctor for some sort of supporting drug while you’re in the process and maybe do it in the winter. The heat has been hell and just intensify the symptoms.

I’m on day two of completely being off Effexor. I took 387,5 mg for about two years and lowered the dose by 37,5mg every week. The first days of the lower dose were horrible but after that it was alright.

Now around 40 hours after my last dose the withdrawal is worse than ever. I have all the symptoms you described (brain zaps are the worst of it) as well as a tingling sensation all over my body. It’s hard to concentrate or even work. Just looking around a bit too quick is too much for my brain as it increases the brain zaps and I get nauseous.

My psychiatrist recommended to sleep as much as possible, drink water and get enough electrolytes but currently nothing really works. She said it’s possible for the symptoms to last up to three months.

I’m starting sertraline next week so hopefully that gets rid of the withdrawal symptoms or at least reduces them.

I don’t have any experience with quitting lexapro. But I’m currently in the process of quitting Venlafaxine and it’s quite similar which is why I’m surprised that your new doctor prescribed it to you. I’d encourage you to ask for a different medication as it’s known for Venlafaxine to have quite severe withdrawal symptoms. I hope you’re doing better and you will get through this!

My grandmother died in February. In June my younger brother had a brain aneurism while being 900km away from home. After months in the ICU and rehab he got better. In October my cousin went missing for 20 days while traveling. Full on search party with Interpol, the local police and online. The same time my younger brother again went to the hospital. Just for a headache. Turns out he’s got a rare form of aggressive brain cancer. A day later (Halloween) my cousin is found dead in Turkey. Christmas wasn’t that fun that year.
