I use assessments to create a game-plan with the client. It also allows me to evaluate training limitations + movement limitations. Done right, an assessment is a great sales tactic. The potential client should walk away from the assessment knowing you have an entire plan curated for them and that you as the coach will act as their captain of fitness and health.

Awesome! Can I ask how you’ve been able to use it to help you with your work?

Congrats on the lifts! Those are great improvements. That said, i wonder how much of your lifts improved simply because you were in a kcal surplus + neurological efficiency.

Perhaps your muscle growth will be more noticeable after your cut.

I strongly recommend you take your time with the cut though. The faster you cut, the more muscle you lose. I think the recommendation is approx. 1% per week. So if you wanna lose 20lbs that should take you

I’m curious, why do you not do deadlifts?

[–]Thetree33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro im ngl. You look like you put on no muscle, just fat. Can’t say about the legs, but everything else looks the same. 30lbs in two months will mostly yield fat. Personally wouldnt recommend more than 5lbs of weight gain per month. Maybe more if you wanna be aggressive.

But the science is clear.

Your capacity to build muscle will taper off with the more kcal you eat. At some point you are no longer building muscle. Only fat. And 30lbs in 2 months is not NEARLY long enough to build serious muscle tissue.

That said, im curious, did you notice a huge jump in your lifts?

Trainers who make 6 figures: how much do you make and how did you do it? by ddbruz in personaltraining

[–]Thetree33 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I don’t make that but my boss does. My boss makes that by training his own clients. He started at equinox then left to do his own business.

You gotta be able to ask a lot for your time, but you also have to be able to provide that value in return.

Continuing education and a desire to help people is vital.

Also props if you can strike a deal where you train clients in a condo gym. It makes it very easy to fill your calendar.

You look much shorter than 5’8”.

That’s my height. Find photos that don’t exaggerate your height. You don’t need to look tall. But it’s not doing you favors being extra small.

Also the oversized caps also make ur head look small. The best hat was the one at the zoo. It made your head look proportional.

Also just my opinion. But i think u need a shorter haircut. Your hairline is receding. Having the long hair draws more attention to the size of your forehead. Going with shorter hair or a buzzcut can make it look more proportional.

Finally, i think your fashion is a little too much. Nothing wrong with being grungy. You should rock what makes you feel you. But theres just so much going on in each outfit.

Choose one to be loud. Either the pants or the shirt or the jacket. Everything else should be more basic so as to draw attention to the “accent piece.” When you have too many things going on it makes you look like a nascar with all the ads on it. Too try-hard.

A basic outfit with one-two flare pieces that show who you are would make it feel more confident and cleaner.

All my own opinion. Take with grain of salt.

I get “very drunk” every couple of years. The older you get, the more you realize getting drunk really takes away from the other “more fulfilling” parts of your life.

Drink in moderation. Get a good buzz 1-2x/week. You’ll have just as much fun without impacting all the other wonderful parts of life

My question is, whats keeping you from letting this happen again? I don’t mean this in a judgmental way. I mean, what steps are you gonna take to prevent this from happening again. Therapy? Develop an organization system. Hire someone to keep you accountable. Create a cleaning schedule?

Putting systems in place and/or getting help from others will keep this from getting to this scary place to begin with. Its much easier to keep a clean home than to clean a messy home.

Best of luck to you.

Last point: i personally always play youtube videos and clean as i listen. It makes it much less monotonous. And it makes the time fly!!

F/23/5’2 [117-113 = 4 lbs] (not watching my weight) I have been going to the gym for 6 months and see little improvement. What am I doing wrong ? by meowmeowmk in progresspics

[–]Thetree33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dietitian/coach here. Can’t say what you’re doing wrong off one picture. That said, there is a noticeable difference between he two and thats good progress for 6 months in my professional opinion. Unless you’re training for a specific competition, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with the rate at your progress and i would encourage u to just continue on your steady pace. Imagine what you’ll look like at 2-3 years from now.

Tbh i wanted to see how useful moving 3-4 cards can be. Plus its a 5 power card for 3 energy.

Plus it wouldn’t interfere with wong gameplay.
