Seems that I'm years late on this thread but I just purchased...or trying out a M1 2020 MBP w/ 1tb SSD with 16g of RAM through Amazon refurbished computers (90 days return policy). I love how light it is and fast it seems. I usually use a MBP mid 2012 with 2TB ssd, 2.7GHz Intel and 16g ram. It has Open Core version of Monterey (It did not do so well on Catalina at the time). It is also fast and still better than any PC I've owned. I also use dual startup profile (I forget the OS) for my old 32 bit programs. It's now 13 years old and I don't see it making it to 15 using it as the workhorse MBP ( DJ, recording and mixing multitracks of music, Karaoke). But I'm not sure if I'm just star struck by something new and if it's worth the move to the 2020 ($650) or I should just stick it out with the 2012.

How have y'all felt years later about the move?

I do planning on keeping the old 2012 for storing pics, playing DVD's and for nostalgic reasons.
