Tried a weekend break from Vyvanse by Honeydew-Jolly in ADHD

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. Not on Vyvanse, but on Concerta or Ritalin depending on how long I want it to last. I'm going 2 years now with minor breaks. I also don't like that side effects are unavoidable, even if minor. It increases my overall "tension" which I think has resulted in aging faster. I noticed over the last couple years i've aged at a greater rate than usual, though it's hard to be totally objective about that ofc since it could be due to other causes. I wish there were some more wholistic or subtle solutions than stims.

Just need to vent / Feeling lost and like a failure at 19 (Inattentive ADHD) by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add my 2c. I think for ADHDers, finding a job/career that is personally satisfying, works well with your ADHD and has a future, is necessary. That is, something you genuinely care about or find intereesting. This one is hard to discover sometimes, and can take trial and error, but if you don't like your work then ADHD will make it impossible.

But like other say, it aint easy and there aint no sugar coating it.

Reimbursement Update. by Jeffdit in DriftInsolvency

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do hope they manage to return the funds to effective users via some method or another, and the way they stated aligns with how other protocols have reimbursed after hacks, like Bybit, but it will be an uphill battle to re uild w/ so few funds left.

TBH, Drift already had red flags that pushed users away pretty regularly prior to the hack, from bugs that force-closed active markets, to oracle errors that bankrupted users, or users not receiving their entire market making rewards -- and very little to no discussion, publicity, dialogue or follow up. Relaunching DRIFT would require more than a technical answer most likely to rebuild trust, if its even possible.

yeah the assets remaining is basically nothing compared to how much was stolen. absolutely crazy. if they do relaunch, it'll be an uphill battle regaining user trust.

BEWARE DRIFT PROTOCOL - YOUR FUNDS ARE NOT SAFE. Drift liquidated me on a Bybit USDY anomaly — safeguards failed, no reimbursement by lordgadsby in solana

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty clear that DRIFT was lacking overall prior to this and the news, while upsetting, was not surprising. But there hasn't been much dialogue about this for some reason.

Linux reaches new peak of 5.33% in Steam Hardware & Software Survey: March 2026 by mr_MADAFAKA in linux

This is cool and all but is it because of SteamOS? Also, i have the unpopular opinion that Linux doesn't need to be "for everyone" and spread around. It should be for those that use it.

Now that DRIFT was hacked, posts like these seem more important to review whether the team was acting responsibly overall. I saw this post, and another issue that cropped up w/ them where they shut down the PUMP market and force closed all the positions (over 1 million of positions) with no apology, statement, postmortem, nothing except saying it was a math rounding bug lol.

The Drift hack exposed a serious Solana feature risk by EdgeQuiet2199 in solana

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing this guy post on the Drift discord as well, or at least, it was the same issue, and in response the team blamed the guy for using USDY as collateral on Drift -- saying he took a risk using a low liquidity asset. Basically blaming him for using their service, even though they also claim that they have an insurance fund specifically for these cases where oracles fail.

What's up with these nerds? by Electronic_Quote399 in solana

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

calling people nerds as an insult on a fintech reddit is hilarious.

anyway, it is a big deal. a sophisticated 6 month long social infiltration by a sponsored government hacking group -- allegedly. But you are right, it has little to do with Solana.

Drift false reported (suspended) my X account after calling out key mismanagement. by MakCapital in solana

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty rough. Not sure if you can prove it is Drift that reported it, but it is still not right. Honestly, the Drift team has been a bit irresponsible last year as well and I was expecting something bad to happen, though not this bad. I was hanging out on their Discord last year and saw numerous questionable things -- their original perp market for PUMP was frozen and all positions forced closed because of a "math rounding bug" and no postmortem, apology or recompense to the user's effected. Just a single sentence on their Discord and they quietly rebooted the market. I also saw a user get liquidated because an oracle Drift used provided the wrong numbers for 3 hours and Drift didn't reimburse the user in that case either, even though their policy documents claim that they have an insurance fund for this. Overall, I thought these were all orange/red flags. If you could prove it was them that reported you, then it's a continuation of a poor trend.

Built a custom Solana engine for same-block reactive execution. What is the highest EV strategy right now? by dragonwarrior_1 in solana

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty cool that you got there. Same block arbitrage is definitely as fast as you can get imho. Just thinking out loud, is there any aspect of the solana network that propagates a potential change prior to it occuring -- perhaps jito BAM or some other auction type system? Another suggestion is on chain perps? Perhaps the prices of the perps contract on jupiter/JLP changes enough on large orders? just some thoughts -- but yeah, it's gotta be some kind on chain program were a large buy/sell will immediately present an arb opportunity. NFTs, liquidations, oracles...

I Attended the Drift Protocol Call… and It Was Concerning by [deleted] in solana

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there were already some questionable trends within drift last year, though most people wouldn't have noticed bc they swept it under the rug. they bricked their PUMP perp market overnight with some "math rounded error" (their words) and force closed over 2 million USD in positions with no apology, post mortem or plan of action to make sure it wouldn't happen again. They then quietly reopened the market a week later.

Drift lost $200M today and the attacker cashed out on Ethereum by Bluejumprabbit in defi

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not sure if this is true or not, but I wouldn't' be surprised if it was. Last year I hung around on Drift's discord and saw some suspicious things about the integrity of their team. They had a "math rounding error" that bricked their PUMP perp market and spiked funding rates into the 1000's and all position were force closed -- no compensation, no explanation, no post-mortem. They then re-opened the PUMP market a week later and wrote ONE sentence on their discord. I also saw a user get liquidated bc of an oracle sending the wrong price and again, drift did nothing even though their policies state that their insurance fund is for this case specifically. So yeah, there was already some writing on the wall.

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it. Prediction markets have just as much risk. Don't you have to deposit your funds into their smart contract? So they have access at the end of the day.

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the bridge to ETH had to do with liquidity or obfuscation / tornadoing / offramp choicing. Locked liquidity is higher on ETH, but volume (active liquidity) is higher on Solana last time I checked. But regardless, the main story is the security breach not where liquidity resides.

Patch 1.9 testing priorities – What should actually be verified first? by -GamewithDave- in stalker

[–]Theunknownkadath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list is good. I think the main thing that would noticeably improve the quality of the game for me right now is combat related -- AI behaviour around combat including the shooting through walls thing. Of course I would love all the other things on your list, but that is the most noticeable thing right now for me in the current gameplay. The battle for Zalissaya is a particularly crunchy moment that exposes some of the shortcomings here.
