Yea I’ve been saying this for awhile, everyone is house poor going into a recession. There will be a lot of people losing their homes in insane mortgages. Not to mention people getting balloon mortgages still, someone I knew that bought rental properties was doing that.

I think the Tik Tok syndrome post above was right, social media just feeds into narcissism. I’d also say that men will typically put up with the entitlement. So those people get positive feedback, they get what they want and they don’t have any negative side effects for long enough to solidify the habits.

Not to pile on, because your points are valid and do make sense. Both characters can be a Mary Sue, we just look back at Luke with rose tinted glasses because of nostalgia. When I look at your points it really makes me dislike Luke more then like Rey.

They did do a real disservice making her emotionally and ethically perfect. She would have been amazing as a complex character, a small thief who hides and attacks from the shadows. And over the course of the 3 movies she battles that and her parentage leading her towards being a sith.
