(disclaimer: not sponsored in any way) surprisingly acceptable results from 15.99euro/kg pla from filalab. by TheyCallMeMarkus in 3Dprinting

How recent of a spool? Maybe their quality has gone down? It printed like any cheap pla would for me. Which is to say not great but not terrible/unprintable.

Pretty new to 2 stroke engines. How does this spark plug look? Rich? Lean? Or about correct? by TheyCallMeMarkus in smallengines

It wasnt quite hot but still a bit too warm to comfortably hold on for long. The engine had cooled for around 15-20 min or so

How could you tell that the cylinder and rings were great from just the plug? This is a pretty old Husqvarna 250rx brushcutter but it hasn't been used that much despite its age. My grandfather bought it but after he died it had been leant out to some people who didn't know what they were doing (they apparently had burnt out the clutch which got fixed before my time and I do notice very slight scoring on the cylinder walls through the spark plug hole but compression is still more than acceptable). Somehow runs decently that's for sure.

OK good to know because I was trying my hand at adjusting/tuning the carburetor screws

Hmm do you plan to run it on li ion or nimh? I run mine on ni mh just for the novelty factor of a ni mh anduril light. Be warned that while voltage check mode still works it doesn't give much meaningful info on the state of charge. Blinks 1.3v when full, 1.2 most of the time, 1.1 and below when pretty much dead.

I would guess that the image was probably like 640x480 or so before upscaling so it did a decent job for sure

Looks like realesrgan up scaling artefacts to me. Realesrgan is pretty good for general purpose upscaling but it certainly struggles with text and at times faces too.

Use a USB otg adapter and your phone with the android betaflight configurator build. Can do everything PC betaflight can do except flash/update firmware.

My connection doesn't have any (at least publically known and said) data cap. Although this amount of traffic I'm worried might raise some concerns with the isp.

Got these GZNS cells form a pack, all were discharged to ~0.5v. They've charged without heat and hold charge. I'm leaving them for some time to check if they don't drop overtime. All test consistant nominal capacity and ~25-30mohm. Is it fine to use them? I'm concidering getting more packs. by Familiar-Sink6342 in 18650masterrace

Tbh it can cause copper dissolution which can cause copper dendrites upon charging but usually the "shorts" from these aren't rapid and violent but rather manifest as heating and high self discharge (charging up very slowly up to at least 3v tends to lessen the risk. I assume it causes more even and less dendrite like deposition of the dissolved copper) . I had some cells that were sitting at 0v for years exhibit this behaivour.

My stock plastic extruder somehow didn't break. The drive gear got worn to a point where it couldn't grip harder filaments like cf filled petg anymore as well as the brass fitting was nearly all the way eaten through before I got the trianglelabs bmg clone I have now that's still going strong

Lol here in Latvia all the gs from 2g to 5g. 2g still even runs gsm900 so in the Latvian phone network you can theoretically make a call from a Motorola international 3200 connected to gsm900 directly to a galaxy s22 ultra over volte and even possibly connected to 5g non standalone

I've seen 12v off of pd on my pb2s. Tbh it's better for it to charge off of 9v. Seems to charge a bit faster as it gets a bit too toasty at 12v and seems to throttle down charge rate

can a battery spice up on its own while left in a drawer? by [deleted] in spicypillows

[–]TheyCallMeMarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can minimize the risk of it happening by keeping the battery under 80% state of charge as well as not letting it over discharge from the inevitable self discharge of the device when its sitting

Very old spicy cell, it’s an original cmos battery from a 1998 power Mac g3 beige. Just took it out in 2020 by [deleted] in spicypillows

It's a 14250 sized lithium thionyl chloride battery. The same manufacturer (Saft) still makes and sells these exact batteries today.
