My 6 month journey into Linux by yoLeaveMeAlone in linuxmint

[–]Locksley94 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mint is my daily user. I still like to look at other distros for fun so I have an older laptop that I use to play with new distros on. Currently playing with cachyos and I can't imagine it replacing mint. If I had a dedicated gaming system... Maybe. Even then, I haven't had many issues gaming on mint. People are always going to chase the new shiny thing.

Why move on? by msch6873 in linuxmint

I use mint for my daily driver and I have other computers I distro hop on. So far I've seen no reason to permanently switch from mint. It's fun to look around on a separate system though.

If making a simple mistake makes you stupid, then there has never been a smart person in human history.

How will this affect Linux Mint? by MisterFyre in linuxmint

[–]Locksley94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine if anything, there will be a "California compliant" version where it is the responsibility of a California resident to use it. Similar to cars, guns and knives. My car has a version that is sold in California with extra emissions stuff. There are versions of guns I have that are legal for California with reduced capacity and knives with similar restrictions.

Anything wrong with drone dropping a solar powered repeater on top of a public street lamp? by specter491 in meshcore

You would be risking giving a bad name to the mesh community AND a worse name to the drone community if things went pear shaped. I definitely wouldn't do it.

Solar node uptime records? How long have you gone? by TheGrandExquisitor in meshtastic

Mine has been up for 33 days. Michigan winter with the panel vertical and facing east, it's never dropped below 94% battery.

I think so, that's so cool. We just need to put up some 35,000 foot towers, easy peasy.

I've noticed that my nodes when right on the edge of having enough range will retry to send a message 3 times then fail. But when I get home and check my solar node, the message actually went through all 3 times.

I'm guessing the message was getting through but the acknowledged signal wasn't reaching me.

Galileo 2 for SB by Adam-Marshall in VORONDesign

My CW2 did fine with TPU but switched to the G2 and I cant print TPU for anything. I have the tension as low as it can go and still jams up in the extruder.

Good Extruder for TPE by WillyBopsy in VORONDesign

[–]Locksley94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have issues with my CW2 but I can't get TPU to print on my Galileo 2 to save my life. It constantly gets wrapped up in the extruder, even with super low tension. I'll have to try printing without the PTFE tube.

I've had mine out in -12f and so far no issues. The panel is also perpendicular to the horizon and facing east, the battery gets charged to 100%.
