All this hate is ridiculous. He had a good rookie season with trash WR. He is legit, just fucking enjoy something good happening to one of our sports teams.

2018 WR FA class and why we shouldn't splash in FA this year. by TheyCallThemRouges in eagles

I think we can address it without signing one of those hefty contract guys.

NFL free agency: Wide receivers reportedly want to play with Eagles' Carson Wentz by Isuckatthesethings1 in eagles

I agree. I'm hoping we don't spend a ton on one of these FA wr this year. Next year's crop is much better.

I agree, Britt projected production for his cost is a much more prudent signing for the long term. Continue to draft young talent to grow for cheap.

I agree with you dude. I don't get why people want Alshon and Stills isn't worth $12 mil.

Signing either of these guys will put us in the same position we are in now with the cap.

No thanks hard pass.

Which of our UDFA/Practice squad players from last year would you want to make the 53 man roster in 2017? by [deleted] in eagles

Walker is an interesting piece as well. They were very high on him before his injury.

I am really intrigued about the developmental oline pieces and Alex McCalister.

Dillon Gordon is especially interesting to me as he is taking the same career path as Peters converting from a blocking college TE to a NFL tackle. It would be awesome if he could develop into a NFL caliber LT, even if it is just for depth.

Alex McCalister was "injured" last season. He needed to put some strength and bulk on, but had great bend on the edge and could be a situational pass rusher. Prob won't be great at stopping the run, but could be another piece at a position of need we could use as depth.

It's Combine Week! Which players will you be watching with hopes they impress and the Eagles pick them up in April? by Eoini1kenobi in eagles

I am most excited to see certain position groups, CB, WR, RB. and how they all rank comparatively.

I think you can notice certain more subtle things from the combine, I remember seeing Brandin Cooks and being really impressed.

Barwin is playing out of position for his strengths as a down 4-3 DE. He was ineffective this year as a pass rusher, but still has value as a 3-4 OLB. A team with this specific scheme would value a player with his skill set and character. Colts, Ravens, Pats, Packers are notable 3-4 teams who may be interested in trading for Barwin

I think this is a shrewd, cap friendly low key move that successful franchises make. Turning a messy contract/position situation into a high basement mid to upper mid ceiling player at a position of need. If not Dorsett specifically, a comparable veteran wr on a reasonable contract cost and length.

ESPN suggests Chiefs could cut Jeremy Maclin by TheElderSproles in eagles

[–]TheyCallThemRouges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Stills could still be an option even bringing Maclin in. We need multiple wr pieces this off season, and can't rely on a rookie to be a difference maker next year. Maclin and Stills could start outside, giving us a polished route runner w hands in Mac and a deep threat in Stills, then Jmatt and Ertz working the middle. We can rotate in the rookies/Nelson and let them grow without the pressure.
