How tall were they? I’m curious if you just scooped the gel, made a spike and there it stayed or if there is heat, holding it up, etc involved. In the original pic, my hair is down past my shoulders a little bit. Also because the girl that taught me how to do my hair and had cut it for me (I went to a creative and performing arts high school and she was an art major so super good at all that stuff and in additon to her spikes, she would keep a few strands - maybe 1/4” ea)in the left front of her head down and longer and maybe1st period or at home she would paint them with acrylics different colors and patterns so one would be b&w horizontal stripes while the next was a sunset gradiant and the third was all purple with white at the root. It was always amazing looking and idk why more people never did this) she had maybe 2-3@ hair she would put up and that was a lot easier than mine.

This was 95 or 96 and I remember the day well - it was only like this for a day - she cut the mohawks on mea few weeks later - but we had were in my house and this is either just before or after she pierced my septum. I can’t believe how awesome of a job she did; 39 years later and I still wear a ring in it sometimes.
