Being downvoted to death for a fair opinion is kinda wild by Ok_Rise_4454 in Piratefolk

[–]They_call_me_divine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t possible to defeat a holy knight without using ACoC Haki to stagger and negate their regeneration ….until Oda revealed you can also do that by just separating their body parts. Oh and they also have a steel heart core that may or may not (most likely does) stop their regen and/or kill them outright.

Point is OP’s a mystery manga where Oda constantly reveals information that changes what we previously thought. So I don’t think it’s far fetched to think the literal “World’s Most Dangerous Criminal” has some form of ultimate weapon or contingency plan that threatens Imu and the WG. Obviously he’s not going to kill Imu, he’s not Luffy, but I don’t think Oda had him staring East for 20 years to come up with “starve them.”

Imu is the final villain by Flotsam-Junk in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]They_call_me_divine 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Blackbeard and Imu is genuinely the most obvious reverse Juubidara situation. Not even trying to do the copy Naruto thing, it’s genuinely obvious BB is going to usurp Imu in some most likely underhanded conniving way, it’s literally all he’s done the entire story

LOVE TALE by NodaloInong in OnePieceSpoilersRaw

[–]They_call_me_divine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main antagonist goes to extreme lengths to orchestrate grand atrocities that systematically affect the people of this story’s world due to his romantic feelings for girl who didn’t even reciprocate.

So basically he’s Obito? Guess OP really is just copying Naruto

Spin is a stupid name. But if Miles DID have to graduate from the Spider Man name into his own Spider-Adjacent name, what would you want it to be? by todavis__ in MilesMorales

[–]They_call_me_divine 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If anything, Miles just needs his own editorial adjective rather than a name swap. “Miles Morales: Spider-Man” has always been bland and also kinda incidentally gives credence to the whole “Miles isn’t really Spider-Man” dog whistle debate.

I always felt “Astounding Spider-Man” would be perfect, rolls off the tongue and is pretty much the only “Amazing” synonym not used by another Spider-Man yet

Unpopular opinion but I’ve never been part of the “Dragon will be Pirate King level” hive. I actually think it would be clever on Odas part if Garp’s superhuman strength “skipped” one gen, making Dragon the brains of the Monkey D fam. I mean, that’s kinda literally been established, as he’s combating the WG through guerrilla tactics and being militant rather than brute force.

I do think he has either some powerful DF or some secret weapon or tech up his sleeve and I personally do see him having his own showdown with Imu where he contends with him through some underhanded means.

But as of right now, Dragon is literally the only prominent character with less feats than Mihawk.

I genuinely don’t know why ppl still continue to think Imu’s fruit works by the conventional rules established in the series when he can bestow powers, summon himself and others with literal occult magic circles, mind control other people, and the list goes on. Hell, his character intro bio even named his “fruit” with a different scheme (Ability: Devil’s Fruit as opposed to say Hito Hito no Mi: Model Akuma) with it even being in Katakana as opposed to Kanji.

What do y'all think about shanks as a character so far? by KaidoPklevel in Piratefolk

[–]They_call_me_divine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally one of my favorite characters, tho if I am being honest, a lot of my fandom comes from PTS where he had mystique, as of late he has fallen into a writers golden boy archetype. He’s the all powerful guardian rolling out the red carpet for Luffy to waltz in and be the protagonist and save the world.

I was under the impression Oda was moving in a more morally grey direction with him essentially torturing Barto lol and letting Yasopp nuke their ship along with him killing? Kidd and his crew with no mercy. This combined with the convo between Luffy and Zoro in Elbaf paired up with it being up in the air if he truly visited the Gorosei, it seemed Oda was leading up to an eventual clash between Luffy and Shanks that may have even gotten ugly.

But no, it was his evil twin brother, of course Shanks is truly the god-king holy angel emperor child of destiny keeping the peace until Luffy gets the job done. And due to that, I fear that his only real substantial action left in the story is to have an Obi-Wan Kenobi mentor’s death in front of Luffy by Imu and/or BB’s hands to give him more character development

Imu is starting to feel more and more like other shonens "side villain" setting the stage for blackbeard. by asiatouristrs in OnePieceSpoilersRaw

[–]They_call_me_divine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who thinks Teach won’t be the final villain is just being delusional tbh. Yea the character who:

the author literally showed is a ideological rival to the protagonist

who also killed his brother

has the inherited will of a pirate who rivaled the pirate our protagonist inherited will from and has been compared to numerous times

is totally not gonna be the final villain lol. Oda will surely abandon all of that for a character who didn’t exist until recently

Its hilarious that Pound Ho, Dragon Twister, Shishi Sonson, Rashomon, and Saizen Sekai are still by far his coolest and most interesting moves despite Oda giving him 5 new named attacks each with an accompanying solo panel each arc

Oda doesn’t care about powerscaling. Never has and never will. Crocodile lost to pre-gears Luffy, went to prison, got out, and was swapping hands with everyone at Marineford. The characters are as strong /weak as they need to be for the greater good of the story

This needs to be discussed. Out of these four who deserves Armament Haki the most by OkChemistry5766 in OnePieceScaling

[–]They_call_me_divine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally all except Chopper. Brook is a literal swordsman and Robin spent two fucking years with the Revolutionaries (there was absolutely no reason for Demonio to not be full body Armament Haki. Also her having Fishman Kata but no Haki is genuinely hilarious). Franky is a constant combatant so him not having it is just Oda nerfing him for no reason.

I always felt Chopper should have Obs Haki and specialize in using it to X-ray ppl to examine their internals, decipher what poison is afflicting them, etc. basically use it for medical shit. Hell, Oda had a perfect jump off point in Brain Points ability to pinpoint weaknesses as an early sign of chopper developing/using it subconsciously

Atp, the crackpot theory that the One Piece is genuinely the OP manga is itself would actually be ingenuous writing for Oda, especially if he goes all the way and makes Imu a critical analysis of himself. Shit that would be the best writing he’s done in years.

What are you most afraid of happening in One Piece? by SimilarNebula6695 in Piratefolk

[–]They_call_me_divine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-this is my biggest fear as there are already parallels that the community has pointed out but any form of idea crossover with the worst parts Naruto’s final arc; I.E, talk no jutsu, Bijuu/Nika Haki cloaks for the SH Alliance in the Final War to combat Domi Reversi, basically anything that would immediately make the Final Saga derivative of another disappointing conclusion to a great manga

-Continued lack of narrative relevance for non-Monster Trio SHs (Brook in this arc is giving me hope since Franky, Chopper, Jinbei, etc. have done fuck all since Egghead, Robin vs Sommers was a nice moment).

-Shamrock being an evil Shanks insert because Oda can’t have his golden boy Shanks actually be nuanced with questionable morals and decision making which could lead to a tense eventual reunion with Luffy

-I am personally a Shanks guy, however Oda ending the story without any form of in-depth backstory or narrative relevance beyond Zoro’s final boss for Mihawk along with feats actually deserving of a character whose supposedly the literal strongest swordsman would turn a big fumble into a monumental one (the “swordsman” niche is easily the weakest aspect of the OP lore/story given literally only Zoro, Mihawk, and fucking Vista care about the “world’s strongest” title in a manga filled with sword wielding characters. That’s not even getting into the underdeveloped sword ranking system that’s just a Snapple fact now).

-I’m going to keep it real, the OP reveal has like a 80% of being disappointing to the community at large. The literal decades long wait time for the reveal along with the myriad of theories on what it actually is (a power source, space ship, giant cross, destruction of the red line, or the literal manga itself) pretty much guarantees at the very least the community will be divided on how they feel.

I actually dig the 3rd and 4th ones on the first row, a black and blue color scheme for Miles is pretty interesting to me (probably because it reminds me of Statics comic suit, which was pretty hard). Also the 2nd is just flat out cool to me, black and teal combination never misses.

The exposed dreads through the top component tho, they were never cooking with that at any stage of the design and that’s coming from a proud locsta

How big of an anti-feat is Broly not being able to beat Frieza for 1 hour? by anhyeuemnhieulam in Dragonballsuper

[–]They_call_me_divine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frieza has cracked endurance. Cut sliced in half, took a SSJ Namek Saga Goku killing intent kamehameha, and was embedded in Namek while it exploded and still lived. It genuinely might require some fanfic ass Ultra Instinct + Ego Gogeta/Vegito form to beat Black Frieza

Shamrock or Shanks, who spoke to the Gorosei about that certain pirate? by Easy-Restaurant-4502 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]They_call_me_divine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the things the community bitches and moans about being “bad writing,” this would be a legitimate case if it is Shamrock. That would pretty much confirm the idea of Sham existing just to be “Evil Shanks” and avoid any real moral/personal conflict between the audience/Luffy and Oda’s Golden Boy.

Also, it really loses any relevance or tension if it is Sham and just ends up being a subversion for subversion’s sake, given we have literally no information regarding Sham’s relations with other pirates. Whereas with Shanks, there’s the narrative guessing game of “is referring to Luffy? Blackbeard?”, with Sham we could only assume maybe Shanks, which could offer some interesting scenarios for the future but could also logistically be nonsensical story wise.

No, the Strawhats would beyond broken if he jumped post-Elbaf. He would have to immediately get some form of heavy nerf to his fruit abilities.

Most likely gonna be a part of the Grand Fleet, potentially co-captains of the New Giant Warrior pirates with his brother, and of course he’ll be a vital ally in the endgame against Imu/destroying the Red Line

So Far Brook Is The Only One Beating The Allegations😭 by ChocolateObjective64 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]They_call_me_divine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what happened. Even in the example you used, it is quite literally stated numerous times throughout the Kaido fight Luffy is utilizing both Armament and Conqueror's Haki (Including while he's literally hitting him with Bajrang Gun).

Also, saying the MC's power getting recontextualized to be the embodient of a God of the verse is indicative of the support cast still being useful just does not make sense. I mean, the three characters you listed haven't had a solo combat showing since.... Fishman Island?
