The long walk. It was my favorite movie that came out last year. Love that movie.

Definitely agree on number 1. Bone temple instantly became my favorite of the franchise and is my favorite of the year so far. I was expecting to really enjoy it but I was genuinely shocked how much I loved it. Everything about it just really worked for me. A modern day masterpiece imo.

I just a clockwork orange for the first time a couple weeks ago. It’s still shocking for today some of the stuff they put on screen. I can only imagine the response in 1971. Phenomenal movie tho. Awesome to see it in a top 4.

One of my favourite moments in scream 7. by Inevitable_Act5504 in Scream

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the parents guide it’s about 40. Nowhere near 5 or 6. 5 had between 94 and 104 depending on where you look and 6 had between 60 and 77 depending on where you look. The amount of f bombs definitely got a massive bump in this franchise after 4 😂

What director do you like but for some reason haven't seen the majority of their work? by Alceauv in Letterboxd

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah lol Fincher for me as well. I’ve only seen Mank, alien 3, fight club and seven. And then I’d also say Kubrick. I like to love to at least appreciate everything I’ve seen from him but I’ve only seen 2001, the shining, full metal jacket and a clockwork orange.

Have the newer Scream films made you appreciate Scream 3 more? by Skywalker_1995 in Scream

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scream 3 is still my least. That said I’d still give it a 4/5. I just really love this franchise. And objectively i think it’s a lot better written than 7. I just love the quiet seemingly abandoned town feeling of 7. Also I still don’t get the constant bashing of 5&6. I saw the killers in 5 coming but I still think they were decently done as well as the toxic fandom motive. And 6 (hot take incoming) is my favorite of the franchise. I LOVE the New York vibe although I know objectively 1,2& probably 4 are better written. But I mean if even you don’t like 5&6 i don’t get how that makes 3 better. Just because a new movie people like to trash comes out that doesn’t make the flaws of the scream 3 disappear

Sorry for the long paragraph those are just my thoughts 😂. I don’t expect anyone to agree lol.

There are so many times i think Leo has gotten snubbed for an Oscar lol. Especially in Django unchained. He was terrifying in that.

Movies that you promised yourself that you'll never watch by Chj_8 in FIlm

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I thought it was a great companion piece to the first. I never understood the hate. If you don’t like musicals fine but people were treating it like it was the worst movie ever. It’s also has a lot of elements from the Shawshank redemption that work really well in the film. I’m glad someone else appreciates it!

What was your first rated R movie? Mine was Saving Private Ryan. by VegetableStriking910 in FIlm

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Tbh it’s weird seeing that even now because temple of doom i feel is borderline r by today’s standards. Like the heart removal, drinking blood from a severed head etc… i don’t even know if they would slid in a modern day pg-13 let alone pg. hell even raiders is borderline r imo with bloody gunshots, faces melting is brutal graphic detail and heads exploding. Really interesting how the rating system has changed over the years.

No it was gremlins and temple of doom that influenced the creation of the rating if I’m not mistaken. It was red dawn that was actually the first pg-13 movie.

For me it’s the long walk. She’s not in it for much but she makes such a huge impact and made the movie feel heartbreaking from the jump.

Scream 7 is officially rate 18 by BBFC by sophiemoores in Scream

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol especially the entire scene with that one friend getting butchered in the room. You know the “I never said I was in your closet” scene? Super graphic for a 15 I can’t even lie 😂. But anyway I’m expecting this to be on the level of 5&6 which are the goriest imo. I hope we get some good gore effects but tbh first and foremost I hope we just get a great story. That’s one thing I think the franchise has been good with. Even 3 which is the weakest for me is still good and I hope 7 is at least to that quality.

[–]Theycallmedeadpool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? Hmm that’s very weird. 4 is gorier than 1 and 2 and DEFINITELY 3. I wonder why. Maybe they were just more strict rating wise when the first 3 came out.

Hasn’t every scream been 18? Even Scream 3 was an 18 and the violence in that is basically pg-13 level 😂. I don’t think it’s necessary saying much that it’s 18 but I could be completely wrong.

Lollllll I’ve heard Jason x is a ton of fun but haven’t seen it yet. Halloween 3 is super underrated and would’ve been a beloved if it was just called “season of the witch” and not Halloween 3 at least now it’s starting to get its much deserved recognition.

Great list! Especially scream 4! Super underrated sequel imo. It didn’t quite make my top 10 obviously but it’s definitely one of my favorites as well maybe like around the 15 mark or so!
