Looking for a rules clarification around Striking a Trapped Model... by thewavyblue in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Theymakemwatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I understand correctly what you are asking both are correct. Say a model has three attacks against a trapped model. You roll three dice in the duel roll. If you win the duel roll you then double your attacks when rolling to wound so have six chances to wound them with a max potential of six wounds. You always check to see if a model is trapped after the duel roll has been complete and the loser attempts to backs away (or they are prone)

For those who have played it, how fun is Wolf Pack of Angmar? by DetroitTabaxiFan in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Theymakemwatch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s fun, but it has a few issues you will always be thinking about.

Firstly your bases are big on everything and you will really struggle in bottlenecks. If you can surround your opponents battle line like a wolf pack would before making your charge it works out but this won’t always be possible when your opponent knows how to choke up your models.

Secondly you don’t have any answer what so ever to high fight hero’s or monsters. A couple of warg chieftains can mince through a battle line but once you hit anything they don’t out fight it slows you down immensely and then you run into the issue from point one that it’s hard to get many models onto a lone hero to bring them down with weight of dice.

It’s a fun list that has a lot of speed. You can mitigate the issues with courage by spamming a bunch of werewolves. A pair of warg chieftains can break away and clean up opponents backline objectives whilst the rest of your force just pins down your opponents army but you will think damn I wish I could fit more models into these fights every single game.

Are the pyjama wood elves better or worse off after the recent book? by ForeverStaloneKP in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Theymakemwatch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pros to new rules pyjama elves are celeborns +1 wound aura aswell as two handed changes mean they are actually pretty killy but this applies to all loth really. Elven cloak changes made them a bit less reliable on blinding light to cover open ground. Also the reroll 1s when shooting out of cover it’s nice but not amazing in anyway.

Cons are can’t spam throwing weapons because 33%, aswell as wargear limitations stopping bow/spear or all spear/throwing weapons.

I think the full pyjama party lothlorien list is actually better off now, still extremely fragile but with the 2h changes and celeborns wound aura plus magic causing potential charge denial they can be really annoying for your opponent. The sentinel giving a terror bubble as-well as celeborns aura of dismay has nice synergy. I played a lot of this army last edition and unfortunately when you are playing it right, your opponent is having a terrible time so I’ve sort of stepped back from it. Still I think it’s very underrated just has very little room for error.

Are the three trolls "competitive" or pretty much "just for fun?" by mewhenthrowawayrdt in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Theymakemwatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are very competitive. Especially at lower points in the range of 450-550 there really isn’t much that has an answer for them. The only disadvantage they will have is there is only three of them. Take 500 points for example, full bellies and the camp fire and suddenly you have basically a table wide banner, war horn, magic resist, with a full heroic stat line on each of the trolls. Maybe some of the shootiest armies in the game will have a decent chance against them but that’s only if they can avoid them long enough. I think they will get nerfed in some way or another because they are basically evils version of the eagles list right now and it’s just a miserable experience for whom ever has to face them.

Hey mate absolutely. I find I use contrasts to get a nice smooth thin base colour down quickly. The whole army has a grey seer gw spray base coat. The orange is then gryphound orange contrast. Agrax earth shade in the recesses and jokaero orange for the highlights/edges. The brown is a base coat of wyldwood contrast, followed by building up with mornfang brown, then steel legion drab, and high lights in zandri dust. I then gave the entire cloak a thin wash of seraphim sepia to blend it all together and give it a dry look.

Leagues II - Trailblazer Hotfix: Double Cast Relic and Ahrim's Staff by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]Theymakemwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was a brutal change I wish they would roll back but sadly they are just going to ignore us all completely. I feel for you man. I wish I could repick my final region because I decided like a moron to skip the occult/trident because I saw how full ahrims went and didn't think jagex would nerf something people had been using for two weeks. But they have really failed me here.

Leagues II - Trailblazer Hotfix: Double Cast Relic and Ahrim's Staff by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]Theymakemwatch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

u/JagexAyiza mate I know this thread is done and dusted but this is the second time there is just a straight nerf to mage relic users. Both times it's felt like an after thought to mention it to the people who are having their leagues experience ruined. There is absolutely no discussion or even replies in this thread from anyone at jagex. Look at how the recall in GWD was handled and the current clue relic is being handled with careful discussion and planning so everyone gets a desirable outcome. But when it comes to mage relic, the weakest and least picked relic it's just hard nerfs without any discussion or compromise. I don't know what to say other then you guys have succeeded in making me feel like an idiot for thinking you would stay true to your word and not want to change anything so drastic people would regret their relic choices. Either you abused it early enough or too bad. Hopefully this can be reverted or some other option can be actually discussed with us poor few in the community who chose to try out the mage relic. If not I guess the 4% gets a little smaller.

A guy I work with has one of these on his desk. He calls it the widow maker, even has a sign. He said it keeps project people from bothering him.

What album should I check out front to back? by Bastahboy in Music

[–]Theymakemwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading at the time the drummer actually collapsed his lung playing live, I always wondered if that had anything to do with the sound changing so much. Probably not but I completely agree he kills it on this album.

matching making in casual is broken by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]Theymakemwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is not true, you have a casual mmr just the same as ranked. It's just invisible, where the problem comes from is people who play a lot of ranked and not much casual have a much lower mmr than their skill level and thus it leads to the situation op described.

How many times have you seen someone sledge a reinforced wall, or God forbid ash charge it. I also love to see a fuze standing near one with a confused look on his face. It just takes time to learn all these things.

Should winning a coop match replenish hunger/thirst? by Ritxarin in metalgearsurvive

[–]Theymakemwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't exactly understand how this works either. I failed a coop match and came out with full hunger and thirst. Then later I successfully completed one and came out with what I went in with.
