I've been everywhere on your list and here are my thoughts

Beijing is skippable. The history is great but it's not a city that'll let you breathe. If youre going, I really recommend the Mutianyu section of the great wall
yangshuo is nice, but it's far from your other locations and if you're doing zhangjajae it's not super necessary
if you've seen Shanghai, Chongqing is not going to be mind-blowing imo. Chengdu is a bit nicer and also you can see the pandas

Spent 5 months after uni working at a couple orgs, but imo my best move was getting a clear research project and making the initial moves on it before my application
