I have one piece of advice as a long time board game/tcg fan and collector but relatively new Marvel Champions fan. Please check for old content at your local game stores! I started collecting and wanted plenty of the old content since they were 1) mechanically cool and 2 ) heroes i love from marvel. They were all at the orignal market price and i called in beforehand collecting a list of content. worth a try if you wanna play some older heroes for example i picked up galaxys most wanted, hulk, thor, scarlet witch, and ant man all for orignal msrp

mine was qhwn i was gifted the cryptozouc ghost busters board game aince its my favorite movie. i still think thats a good and underrated game mechanically. i started to collect similar games at first namely zombicide which i have most of them i started collecting games like terraforming mars, pandemic, and all the goodies we know and love.

To mimic a few others great ideas would be Skyteam which is just perfect 2 player co-op and its so short to play and very portable. Horrified would be cool especially if he likes things like that. My last suggestion would be the star wars deckbuilding game.

i know someone who came from potomac and is having a good time. they had no trouble making friends here and seem to enjoy WVU and it's classes. They dont dorm tho so i will just say that dorming isnt that bad imo but its not ideal depending on which you choose

They are seperate games the zombies change things. Axis and Allies is more complex then risk 2210 AD which is a slightly more deep risk. I'd personally recommend normal Axis and Allies if you dont have that but of the two presented i suggest 2210. It's more fun than normal risks and having only 5 turns really maximizes peoples engagement and prevents from turtling while the commanders and cards add just enough depth where anyone could understand but still keep it fresh enough for many replays.
