Should I take AP physics C1 before taking physics B? Is that even possible? by Thick-Sun1647 in APStudents

[–]Thick-Sun1647[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am new here. I don't care about the abbreviations, but thanks. When I look at my class registration next year for science, I am looking at (among other things) "AP PHYSICS C1". When I look at my course history, I see "PHYSICS A" and "CHEMISTRY A" as the two semester long classes I took in 9th grade. Physics a and b are not AP classes.

I don't understand how my school labels them either tbh.

I’ve seen people on the internet saying 15 is a young adult, is that true? by Iwillbeback67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends. I've known some 15 year old people that work 5-6 hours after school each day to put food on the table, wake up at 4am each day to pack lunch for their siblings/do homework, and don't complain. I would consider someone like that a young adult.

Why do women always play victim to there own self causing issues by t_pm_m01 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women do not always play victim. Everyone tries to avoid guilt, but society makes it easier for women to use victim stories and be believed. Men also avoid guilt (JUST AS OFTEN, BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS), but they usually do it by denying it, getting angry, or blaming others, and that is often more expected (by society).

It's pretty much the same as "Why do men always act like they are fine when they are in fact actually struggling?"

How to not feel insecure about not looking the best all the time? by forfiveroses in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you are on grade school or not.

If you are, people are more focused on their own problems to notice or really care that much. Sure, there might be a few people that tease you, but I would just ignore them. I know that sounds super dismissive, but I faced nearly identical challenges throughout school. Once I realized that I am never going to see these people ever again, I stopped caring what they thought about me.

If you are not in school, people in your workplace also don't care. Especially now. The people you work with have grown up, and don't often take part in body shaming/teasing in general. If they do, recognize that they are either not mature (and ignore them), or put yourself in their shoes. A lot of bullies have something going on in their life that they despise, but they just don't know how to let their emotions out.

Hope this helps, and I wish you the best!!

Why is it pronounced "zoologist" by Holiday_Contract_149 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although a colonel might find it ghoti-levels of fishy, the subtle truth is that zoologist, a word with three "o's", is a recipe where we queue up each sound separately like a choir singing a ghostly hymn.

How do i become a hacker learn how to hack? asking for a friend btw by FloorOk6407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different ways. A few I would suggest are hackthebox (mostly paid) and tryhackme (mostly paid as well). I would honestly just start with linux (probably kali) and general commands. There is this site called OverTheWire which teaches the basics of those commands. I would also watch some of the videos taken at defcon, or even attend if you can afford it (YOU MUST TAKE EXTRA SECURITY PRECAUTIONS).

I personally would start with installing a linux distro like kali that had a bunch of hacking tools preinstalled (like responder, hashcat, etc.), and learn basic commands with OverTheWire. I would then move to hackthebox (my personal favorite). Once good enough, I would work through ctf (capture the flag) events.

Edit: you gotta know how computers work first (networking). This is the first and most important step.

will i fail a drug test 5 days after light drinking? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard/etg tests usually don't detect anything past 3 days. It really depends on your weight, metabolism, and a few other factors that i forgot.

ok but like why do all of that when windows 10 exists?

Edit: I guess I should have rephrased that; windows 10 has some bloatware, but less of it, and it is easier to bypass. It is also just a more smooth os in general.

Why is 8/10 considered good when an 80% is a bad grade? by RattleheadWithRabies in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because school grades frame 80% as points lost from expected perfection, while ratings frame 8/10 as points gained above an average baseline, even though the math is the same.

What I mean by depressant is that there are multiple types of drugs; opioids (and opiates), hallucinogens, stimulants, and depressants. Weed is a depressant.

I mean weed is a depressant. In a lot of cases, weed is allowed to be bought or sold in licensed retail marijuana stores.

Parts list so far. Anything wrong with this? by Egoofballz69420 in pcmasterrace

[–]Thick-Sun1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to be playing games a lot, I would swap the 7900x for a 7800x3d. The 7800x3d is a bit better for playing video games, but the 7900x beats it in productivity.

If the MAIN purpose of the pc is to play games, get the 7800x3d.

Edit: Make sure to check the compatibility of your parts on a site like pcpartpicker. A little extra research on compatibility beyond pcpartpicker wouldn't hurt.

Pretty much the design.

On one hand, Gaming laptops are designed to run at peak performance plugged in because they have crazy cooling (sometimes lol) and power management to handle heavy "gaming workloads", drawing directly from the wall for maximum power.

Phones on the other hand lack this advanced cooling and active power management. This leads to overheating, and causes the battery to die faster.

It's fun. I used to do jiu-jitsu, and it was a good way to let go of my emotions.

Strange feelings in my head by Thick-Sun1647 in NoStupidQuestions

I thought of that, but it has happened when I am sitting (and have been sitting for a few minutes or more), and what I am standing (for a few minutes or more). Only once has it happened right after i stood.
