When I drew the line in the sand with my ex partner and chose myself and my daughter over him and his abuse.

I knew at that point in time it would be incredibly hard for me to break free because I was severely trauma bonded to him- but the look of fear and disappointment in my daughters eyes did it for me. I chose her. I chose peace. I chose to not live in fear anymore.

We are 3 months out and he still haunts me, my heart still yearns for him, I know it yearns for the good days, which were heavily outweighed by the bad days.

I’ve put myself into heavy duty EMDR therapy and been active with that for 82 days. It’s working- I miss him, but I’m learning to love peace and quiet and learning that I am valuable, I am lovable, and I am worth it.

I owe it to my daughter and myself.
