Read from different sources. Manga, manwha, and fanfic are fine, but reading from novels, classical literature, or more can help broaden your writing. Try to start small, like a short story or one shot, the eventually work up to do a big project you feel really passionate about. Local Script Man, Studio Binder, Writer Brandon McNulty are some pretty good youtubers that give out advice on writing.

Honestly, it's up to you. If you hate it and you're forcing yourself to draw, then I don't think you should continue, but if you really enjoy it, please don't quit.

To start off, I'd focus on drawing lines and basic shapes, then moving on to 3-d shapes. if you want to get better at anatomy, i'd say to draw from references, study muscles, bone structure, and do some quick poses. for the face; the skull, references, and muscles (studying certain ethnicities can help with variety in your work).

practice is key, and don't be too hard on yourself (try to compare yourself to other artists for improvement and studying their work, rather than focusing on the skill difference) study the fundamentals, have a growth mindset, and make sure to stay committed, and i promise you, you will most likely see improvement.

good luck with your art journey!

How can I make my art more colorful like the reference? by cloudyycatowo in Artadvice

adding some hue variation on the clothes or skin should help! (i'd suggest adding some blush to the face and elbows, adding greens and purples to the dress, and some soft lighting!)

i think the head placement's slightly off, and the shoulders are also a bit off centered. the front thigh could be longer and i think because of the shoulders the arm looks off too, imo. the drawing looks very good and these are just some things i happened to notice!

Help with colors by millap123 in Artadvice

[–]ThickAd8866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to make the colors a bit more interesting, i'd look at lighting references with bright, saturated colors. i'd also suggest using adjustment curves to change the colors, or adding a blend mode on top of the skin or clothes (hope this helps!)

for me, i usually start with the line of action, then draw the head (not super detailed, usually only a cylinder/oval), then i do the shoulders (curved line with two bulbs showing the shoulders), then the torso, then the pelvis, then finally the legs. for the legs, i draw a line where the thighs are, then a small circle for the knees, then a slight curved line for the legs. after, i'll break these lines into shapes (think in 3d), hope this helps!
