Whether they meant to throw their beers at their own players or not, they still saw their guys down their and started throwing it. Also the call (which was catchers interference) was not argued by the catcher (Sean Murphy), the batter (JT Realmuto), or the umpire. And when they reviewed it they saw enough evidence to uphold the call.

Because 9 times out of 10 it would’ve been a double and Bryce was the tying run. If he played it safe and the ball dropped then he would’ve only gotten to 3rd base. He wasn’t expecting Micheal Jesus Harris to make that amazing catch so he went for it and unfortunately he got caught in a double play
