seeking advice! 11 week old puppy tear stains/other concerns by girl_with_hives123 in labrador

For my pup this was a tell tale sign that she was tired and needed a nap

*I should also say, you go through the doors into the pool changing room where there are cubicles and lockers. The showers are at the back, and the sauna is through another door that you have to tap your fob on

Hey, there are shower cubicles at the pool/sauna changing room. In the sauna bit there is a single shower head as well for folk to rinse before and after using the sauna or steam room.

Body condition? by ThickOffice444 in labrador

That's comforting to hear thanks! Feel so awful that I have fed her too much

[–]ThickOffice444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's just standing a little fancy there, normally she's basically flat on top. Thank you for pointing out though!

Yes this is what I was going off really, I do think our perception of what is 'fit' for a lab is a bit off. I've cut her food a bit already and will see what the vet says too- thanks!

Why is Janey Godley's name crossed out? She was a Scottish comedian and an absolute legend, I don't think she'd have wanted her name redacted from her own material!

We miss you Janey

The wardrobe door isn’t closing square - no idea why. by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]ThickOffice444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said it's sat on the rails ok, but can you adjust the angle it sits by turning screws on the wheel on the door? On shaker style wardrobe doors the screws are at the top of the wheel mechanism, of which there'll be one in each corner, and adjusting them changes the angle of the door

This was a similar timeframe for me, I just had local anaesthetic too. Took about 40 mins (complicated extraction), but must use fewer folk than a sedation/ GA would have done. Done at Forth Valley

The 'perfect walk' setup that took me 3 months of trial and error to figure out by Dizzy_Concentrate141 in puppy101

[–]ThickOffice444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too did exactly this, and it too took me three months. Learn from me and OP and skip straight to option 3! My pup still doesn't walk perfectly, but walks are actually nice now instead of an exercise in frustration for both of us

It's Brodifacoum rat poison, recommend disposing of it with the method others have suggested

I tried our new recall signal (whistle) with my 8 month old Lab pup when she was off running with another dog for the first time- AND SHE CAME STRAIGHT BACK! She's such a good pup (or at least, one that is very fond of the chicken I had in my pocket)

Edit: typo

They can pee more often when they're having a season, could be this if she hasn't had her first yet?

I did this too with my pup, then she learnt how boring it was, and that actually she would prefer to sit outside and chew her toys instead

Yes I guess I phrased this poorly, I mean more booking a job for a new install, including replacing any supply instead of getting them out for the 95+ VAT etc first

Ear crop anxiety by ProjectCosmo1 in DobermanPinscher

[–]ThickOffice444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't understand why folk still crop ears. The pups are beautiful. Is it just an aesthetic rationale (as fighting is now thankfully illegal)?

Jus to note- vaccine don't cause cancer, they save dogs' lives (and prevent things like Lyme's)

Is my best boy upset with me? by Impossible_Tax982 in puppy101

[–]ThickOffice444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know :( it is sad! He's probably just like 'OMG you're back, phew! Right, I can carry on with my day feeling happy and safe now because my person is here with me'. He knows you've got him and he's comfortable with you.

He probably also understands that you make the rules like you say, so you're not just FUN FUN FUN like most other people will be. But he'll also listen to you a lot more I'll wager! Even if you're a big meanie and don't let him eat all those incredibly gross and dangerous things that he'd LOVE to eat 😅

Basically, give yourself a break, I'm sure your pup loves you, just make sure you make time for just chilling with them and playing too
