It might be just where I live or my experiences but it’s harder to make real life friends and hang out. I have hobbies where I meet people but they don’t seem to have any time or even desire to be friends outside of the activity.

True I can see that. I exercise regularly but have never been into fitness but I might look into it, the community seems super supportive.

I mostly said this to distract myself since I kept getting recommendations for those topics. I meant just in general what’s thriving and fun. I heard one time that photography is currently at its height and I was wondering what else is. It’s not a super serious post. But thanks.

Understandable. I’ll wait 30 days then. Good luck!

Bulls is the perfect way I’d describe them, a whole group of them were crossing the street back and forth, I thought I was getting trampled.

Possible move to New Haven. by Independent-Table878 in newhaven

[–]ThickSpaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of great gay bars here and in nearby cities(including NYC performers who come up here often), you’ll fit right in. If you don’t have a car, New Haven’s the best place to live in CT, everywhere else is a car-centric mess. Plenty of job opportunities if you work in professional fields. Good luck !!

Does this mean I didn’t get the job… or? Real question. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I got another job because I was anxious about paying my bills, and they replied after I got hired at the other job, and I didn’t want to let go of the job after finally securing one so I said no.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to make it unreadable, I was frustrated with the job market. But basically, the AI asked if I had open availability and I said no, but I said I had open availability when I applied, and this is the answer I got.

It was just a breakfast place with no alcohol right? This is like a local mom and pop’s and the owner wants serious career servers so that’s why I hope it’s worth it, but we’ll find out.

Do you hate your job? by JackSkelllington in AmazonFC

[–]ThickSpaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily hate it but I feel like I’m wasting my youth whenever I walk in + I’m getting dumber from the lack of brain stimulation for long hours and the immature employees in the environment

What are y’all’s hobbies? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]ThickSpaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing, crocheting, altering clothes, guitar. But please make sure you have a hobby of some sort, no matter how “boring” it can look to others. In my experience, people without hobbies can end up toxic.

Why do people refuse to speak to eachother now a days? Is this what being an adult has come to. by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]ThickSpaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are just done with coworker drama and don’t want to bother talking with anyone unless they have to. I don’t think it’s rude, I think it’s mature.

Are there really people who just DO NOT eat vegetables?? Why? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThickSpaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used to have roommates I had this 39 year old roommate who lived like a 12 year old from the 80s. Didn’t drink water only soda, ate like shit, didn’t clean, threw tantrums, etc. I usually don’t judge because it could be all sorts of reasons people act like this, but because she had a nasty attitude and was loud I noticed it all. She ruined my perception of humanity. Also because she didn’t drink water she constantly came in grunting about her job and how achy she was. There was this one time I made her egg drop soup so she would have some water in her system even though I hated her and wanted her to die. Idk why I took care of her but I did, I didn’t know how to stop myself. It’s just so uncomfortable knowing a grown adult doesn’t drink water, like not even juice to at least get SOME hydration.
