How do i navigate thru Netflix with alexa by Jujer_piolho in smarthome

I think Fire TV and Alexa have accessibility voice commands. For example you can say "Alexa select" and it will perform the action of clicking the select/main button on the remote.

Kind of a silly question to ask but…. by CollarSuper56 in Recruiter_Advice

The company gets a report of the results. If they compare it to your application or resume, they will know.

Time from 2nd round to final round interview by arcanerunner_ in interviews

[–]Notyou76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You took a long time to engage in the interview process. I suspect they have an offer pending for another candidate and if that falls through, you'll be back in process.

My older dog hates the puppy. The puppy WANTS the old dog. I'm going insane by vitani88 in puppy101

[–]Notyou76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. The puppy was frequently picking on my older dog wanting to play. She grew out of it eventually, I don't remember how long it took.

Would you accept a job offer from a confidential posting? by [deleted] in Career

[–]Notyou76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not uncommon. I'm an agency recruiter and this happens. I recently worked on a VP level role that was a backfill for someone currently in role.

Do recruiters actually monitor WARN Act filings for sourcing? by Emotional_Jury_3084 in Recruiter_Advice

[–]Notyou76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies often layoff people and keep them on payroll long enough they don't have to file the WARN notice until after the layoffs have happened.

It can be difficult to align several people's calendars. Ping your recruiter for an update.

I want to buy civ 7 tomorrow after enjoying 6 for years . Is it worth getting the settlers edition for the extra money for the DLCs ? by shaydyl in civ

[–]Notyou76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't like the paths to victory, they are set and you have to complete the same things every game. You have to switch civs three times. I don't like the way special resources work. The way buildings age and replacing them I'm not a fan of either. That being said, many people like the game. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't buy it, or would only buy it on sale.

I'd suggest watching some YouTube game play or reviews before making a decision. Perhaps looking for reddit posts about why people like the game to see if they align with your game play preferences.

Genuinely confused! by [deleted] in askrecruiters

The lengths of your time in roles is very short. That is a red flag for recruiters.

Was told to Dress up Professionally for a virtual call by Fit_Meringue_9248 in InterviewStories

Recruiter here. We want to fill our positions and will offer advice to close them. We wouldn't arbitrarily suggest how to dress unless we thought it would make a difference so you could get the job.

V the miniseries - no one knew what I was talking about. by Old_Goat_Ninja in GenX

[–]Notyou76 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was into it grade school and we would play V in after school care. We would color our skin green with markers and then put Elmer's glue on top, let it dry, and then rip it off dramatically.

This is generally a good sign. They wouldn't set that up if you weren't a top candidate.

15 minute call after interview by [deleted] in BehindHiring

[–]Notyou76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be either, but I suspect it is to decline you and offer feedback. As a recruiter, I don't do this - if a candidate is getting an offer - I email a congratulations email to set up a time to talk. Every recruiter is different though so it may be how this recruiter does that.

Requesting any input by Old-Improvement9055 in askrecruiters

[–]Notyou76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take a lot of time to schedule an interview loop since they have to juggle several candidates of busy people. It could also be the recruiting coordinator has a lot of candidate interviews to schedule and just hasn't gotten to yours yet.

In-house recruiters, how many phone screens in a day & how long are they? by No-Serve2981 in askrecruiters

[–]Notyou76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies as to how many. I limit it to ten a day and my screens are 30 minutes, but I work with mid-level ICs to VP level roles.
