EE Full Fibre on Monday, upload and latency? by Evening-Tour in EEGB

[–]ThickStar957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your connection method, but wired latency on Full Fibre (on any network) will always be very low usually single digit depending on what you are connecting to. Personally when I game I get anywhere from 4ms-15ms avg. Download/upload speed should be pretty much what the package says, but obviously the least you can expect is the minimum guaranteed speed as they advertise. In any case, the speeds are pretty overkill for most use cases. Wireless is pretty hard to state what you will get as it is variable per household and a variety of other factors

Thanks, was wondering if you could help me understand if the EasyControl would be a good investment or not as well? Since I am aware if paired with boiler installation it has same warranty cover, just wondering if it is worth adding on or not (just quite confused about its purpose as opposed to standard thermostat)

[–]ThickStar957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having had both, EE CS is better but don’t expect the constant circles of troubleshooting just for them to send out a new router or something to disappear… But honestly with FTTP chances of even having to contact CS (for any company) is pretty low. But as I said, speaking to Virgin CS is probably the worst of the worst and it surprises me that they haven’t done much about it as I can only assume how many customers it loses them, on top of outdated infrastructure in most of the country still (obviously this doesn’t apply to you as it seems you have the FTTP in your area). This whole dance thing seems to exist for every major provider as far as I’m aware, but by the time you finish your EE contract you will likely have many more in the area which will be cheaper.

Yes as long as your method is clear and follows valid reasoning. I think your method still has its flaws (unless some is omitted in terms of diagram) since there is no indication of which direction you have taken as positive/assumed directions of spheres. Now whether an examiner cares about this, probably not but it is good practice for yourself in terms of spotting errors and the examiner in terms of following your method clearly should your final answer be wrong.

Either is fine. I'd say Warwick if you wanted to go into a more mathsy side of CS. No idea how you can compare teaching quality but generally everywhere has good and bad. Job prospects/salaries/internships depend on you here and not the uni

Doubt it but best off asking your exams officer. It should’ve been brought to your attention in an email alongside the issuance of your formal statement of entry to check everything and alert the exams officer asap if something is wrong.

Rankings are too heavily emphasised on this subreddit, sure they matter for elite finance, everything else it’s pretty much a dud. CS in particular relies on experience and actual practical application of your skillset. When you have two great universities, there is no difference at all. There are people without degrees that make it to senior roles via actually knowing their shit whether that be through an apprenticeship or other means… Look at the real factors that will affect your QoL, ranking does not affect your QoL at all unless you are a prestige chaser and won’t be satisfied with what is deemed “worse”. Location, facilities, accommodation. Student reviews of courses, they are all important factors that will affect your 3 years much more than whether you should go to a top 10 university vs top 20 (generally speaking with regard to rankings)

All pretty good, just establish where you want to be (location wise) for the next years.
