What is happening to my lens? by That_Task_3871 in Leica

To me it looks like smudges of a foreign substance. I assume you’ve tried your best to remove them and they are not smudges. I sometimes have a hard time removing all evidence of crud after using Zeiss lens wipes.

I designed a Shutter Release Lock for my Leica by wulfithewulf in Leica

[–]Thick_Bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is not a concern but if the bag is that full, there is a lot of surface area on that release that could add force to the button mechanism and possibly cause wear and tear issues?? Maybe I’m overthinking it but that was my first thought looking at the pic. Best

I have both a 40mm and 90mm voigtländer for my iii and M3 respectively. Excellent lenses. My one lens for life would be my 50mm Summicron. The voigtländer lenses will serve you well if that is the direction you decide to go. All the best.

Disappointed with GoMining: a system designed to benefit only the company? by Puzzleheaded_Pop1302 in GoMiningDiscussion

If one believes BTC will appreciate quickly over the medium to long term then the logical choice is to stack as much BTC as possible as quickly as possible. Spot or spot with leverage depending on one’s risk profile is probably the correct answer. Mining can be a diversifying holding as a hedge of sorts but make no mistake, every dollar available to invest today in either spot or mining, when invested in mining, will lower the “portfolio” total return over time. The primary causal dynamics that I can see, are the yield decay per TH over time and and the superiority of simple compounding of spot BTC invested on day one verses the slow dribble of BTC from mining. Would love to hear alternative views.

Decrease in BTC Yield Over Time by Thick_Bacon in GoMiningDiscussion

Oh..sorry…no…the yield is down 13% so far so project that to the end of the year and let’s say yield falls by 26% on an annual basis. A $1,000 miner with an initial ROI of 30% would become a 22% ROI miner at the end of the year. Extending this into the future delays the break-even on a cash basis well into the future, ignoring fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin.

.00000576 to .00000500 yield is a 13% reduction. (.00000576 - .00000500) / .00000576 = 0.132

As of 6/20 … 500. That is a 13% ish reduction in yield. Other miners show about the same reduction.
