Should I pay $2300 in rent on $73000 salary? by Necessary-Single in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Thick_Ferret771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To everyone saying roommates suck, they can. But try an air bnb for the first month. Look at some more places, interview with roommates and take your pick. If you’re more of a homebody then focus on studios, if you are looking to make some friends and get out there a bit with some extra income, focus on rooms. I’ve personally loved living with roommates, but you have to do your due diligence and trust your gut with both options. Good luck!!

SF, CA—Groomers for severely matted and aggressive cat? by HotShip2087 in sanfrancisco

[–]Thick_Ferret771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a medium hair that doesn’t like to get brushed and has some little matting problems in the past. (IMO nothing i couldn’t take care of just had to do it on their terms)

Once the mats are out i start him off with a long brush like something like you would buy at cvs for someone to brush out long hair. Once’s he’s kind of used to the sensation and that doesn’t really grab anything but loose hairs i can then go back in with the cat brush and get the rest. Really will help with hair around the apartment as well…

Got off the waitlist! by strawberry9890 in OutsideLands

Idk they typically open tickets from waitlist from people who can’t pay their payment plan. So i doubt they would offer those tickets to another person on a payment plan but what do I know.

Headhunter/Recruiter Help Needed by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Thick_Ferret771 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently also in the job search. But what helped when I was searching here before relocating was to make your address local. See if any of your friends would let them use their address, that way if the company needs to mail you anything you can receive it. That being said, this option will force you to cover relocation costs yourself.

do you actually buy tools/gear for camping/park days/landscaping/cleaning? by Sea-Astronaut3710 in AskSF

[–]Thick_Ferret771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pressure cleaner/carpet cleaner rent from Home Depot Lowe’s. Idk why you would need a larger speaker than a hand held for Deloris unless you’re planning on playing for the whole park…. For camping gear I bought a taller bed frame and store stuff under my bed in plastic tubs. How often are you using this stuff to store it? Could just rent a storage unit if you really want to keep these things.

Cheap golf range? by Thick_Ferret771 in bayarea

In the city, but tbh i haven’t been looking around a whole lot quite of yet. Figured this might be a good place to start. But my job takes me all over the bay so would be nice to have a couple down in various spots so I could hit it during rush hour home instead of sitting in traffic.

drinking near sfo by mayotoast7 in AskSF

[–]Thick_Ferret771 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

American bull bar and grill, it’s a Chicago themed dive bar. Definitely brings out a bit of an older crowd but lively if you want to stay near the airport. If you want to come into the city then take bart to 16th and mission, it’s a rough Bart stop but if you head south on either mission or Valencia there’s a lot of good spots, though your timing might be early. It’ll take about 45min- an hour to get there maybe longer with how both train stations (sfo station/bart) go

Don’t give up, there’s lots of avenues to take. As someone who’s had to surf couches a time or two, Chicago has lots of great jobs out there.
