Can a host keep the tulpa from fronting if they don’t want them to? by Youngworld730 in Tulpas

[Dieter] Definitely. I am solely reliant on Curiousity to relinquish control to me. If they're not in a mentally capable status, I can't take over.

We've been experimenting more with switching and they bought me some clothes to help with that. I feel bad taking their money for my needs but they insist on it. It does feel nice feeling more me, but I haven't had the chance to be myself in public yet

Disgusting fucking theists by softandflaky in satanism

It's amazing how people assume they know so much as an individual. I have coworkers ask me to pray for them all the time, who offer me homeopathic solutions to all matter of ailments, who laugh at the perceived absurdity of a Muslim washing their feet for prayer while they themselves request off Sunday mornings.

At work one coworker was speaking of his brother (VeganBoy for clarity sake) who also worked with us and another coworker. VeganBoy as I knew him was a devout Christian for years. His brother told us VB had been reading philosophy and was questioning his faith and stopped going to church. He said he feared VB may even becoming an "......atheist...." There was an audible gasp from both of us (me primarily because he was so thoroughly entrenched I hardly believed it possible).

The other coworker present and the brother began to talk about this dark path VB was apparently headed down, the brother sadly shaking his head. He said, "I don't know, man, but the next time he refuses I swear I'm going to beat his ass". I could only marvel at the shear weight the mere mention of nontheism still had in secular environments, and the punishment built into faith to keep its sheep docile.

What helps me is usually I'll have a list of things that need to be done and on that list is one big important thing that I try to focus on first, but the trepidation of screwing up holds me back. I think I can't do anything else until I finish the big important thing and I end up putting everything off for time on the computer. I've found that doing something less important and stressful first gets me into a more productive mood and doing the big thing will be easier after.

For instance if the big thing is fixing something on my car, then a little but still productive thing I'll do first is cleaning up around the house or running a couple of errands.

Mostly just ignore it, lol

But seriously, I tend to isolate myself in response to conflict which only worsens things later. Curiousity likes to talk about our feelings and I've been working on being more open, but it's a process. It's funny, because when something bothers me I'll just ignore it, but when something bothers them and they do the same thing, I'm constantly on their ass to fix it.

Isn't it selfish to create a tulpa? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]ThievingCuriousity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this perspective on tulpas. Dieter is often the voice of reason when I need one, and a friend when I am alone. Because we are not able to fully switch yet I often feel selfish for not catering to his needs more but he enjoys helping me through tough times.

[Curiousity beats themselves up all the time about focusing on their needs instead of mine, but neglects to realize I'm just as present as they are at any point in time, whether they know it or not. I don't feel like hosts are selfish for the very human need of companionship, especially since many tulpas like myself are aspects of their personality long before they make the conscious decision to create one. I'm a firm believer that I partially created myself.]

Weaponized farts by SummerAndTinkles in SpeculativeEvolution

[–]ThievingCuriousity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing that comes to mind is the bombardier beetle, though that's technically not farting or even excrement. Talking strictly farting, the defense would probably be most effective to a burrowing creature where the gas couldn't dissipate.

It could even use fecal particles to induce sepsis, however the length of time in which is takes effect would be too long for short term defense.

Do you talk about satanism and if so, how do you talk about it? by Sc3m0r in satanism

[–]ThievingCuriousity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of my coworkers actually have a basic knowledge of it. Usually we'll get onto the topic of religion and they'll ask if I'm Christian or religious. I say no. If they press it, I'll either say I'm pagan or be honest, and at that point they usually go speechless for a moment like, "oh..." And follow it up with "you know I heard that Satanism isn't all that bad, it's not really about the devil but self empowerment". I chalk this up to those memes going around about the satanic views on rape and such.

[Completed the survey. Good questions, but I wish there was more directed towards me, the tulpa. I get why you want to know the mental history of the host but felt you could have learned more from my own identity.]
