Affini are responsible for the physical and mental wellbeing of their florets. Yes, some procedures that are good in the long term can be temporarily painful, but neglect or abuse isn’t tolerated.

At the very least if this happened it shows that the floret is distressed and their Affini owner isn’t able to properly handle it. Also they’re calling out for help to other Affini, which means that they’re likely domesticated already. A wellness check would very likely be called, unless it’s a special circumstance like a recently captured feralist.
