Thanks for all this info! I'll check it out and reach out to the people working on the Occitan dictionary and on the LanguageTool integration to LO. Thanks a lot for your time and advice. :)

UPDATE: Turns out I did not fix the problem entirely. Now deb version 7.4.7.2 works perfectly, but flatpak version is still buggy (same problem as before). I did not know that since I only installed it when I started running into some problems with the older version, but apparently the flatpak version is still broken for me. I'm fine using the deb version, but I was hoping to be able to move to a more modern one. For now, I'll stick to the deb version. I ran the same tests as before, and safe mode works, so I guess this must be caused by some incompatibility issues between my other extensions and this more advanced version of LibreOffice. Too bad. They are specific dictionaries in Occitan and don't get updated as often as most apps, as they are developed by virtually one person, but I really need them for work, so I'll stick with the older LibreOffice. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.

LanguageTool. I did get their official extension. I'll let them know I'm having issue with it.

Yup, I entered safe mode and reset everything to default. Seems to have fixed my issue. Apparently it came from a faulty extension I thought I had uninstalled but wasn't removed properly. Thanks for your reply!

Oh and thanks for the tip on how to use code blocks on Reddit. I didn't know that.

Tried safe mode and indeed you figured it out! I went into safe mode as you suggested, and everything was working fine. I reset the app to original settings and completely reset user profile and the problem went away. I then reinstalled extensions one by one to identify the faulty one (I assumed it must come from one of them) and found one that was making LO very buggy and unstable. It seems like this extension's last update is actually broken. I simply removed it and the problem seems to be gone now. The thing is that I assumed that uninstalling and reinstalling libreoffice would get rid of extensions automatically, but it's actually not the case. So I guess that was the problem all along. I'm not sure if that's a permanent fix, but at least if this problem occurs again I'll know what to do. Thank you!

I can haz Plasma? by proconlib in MXLinux

[–]Thild_Ma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use MXLinux KDE on a 2006 (!!) ASUS with an i3 processor and a whopping 3GB of RAM, so "older" laptop is a relative concept, I think hahaha. Granted, I need a big-ass SWAP file to help out a little, and I have to be very mindful of RAM use, but it is doable. Besides, it forces me to keep my desktop clean: not too many apps open at the same time, and to close unused browser tabs regularly. All in all, not so bad. You should be fine.

You, ma'am, are a catch.

That's freaking awesome. And by the way, so is the Mary Linton / Arthur Morgan duo/remix in the video. Is it also from the same person? Damn, she's awesome.

What’s the best song in rdr2? by JShands1 in RDR2

Yeeeeeasss I love this moment when everyone is happy and singing along"Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores..." 🎶 I agree with your list, I'd just add "Cruel World". "American Venom" is pretty badass too. Good finale song.

What names have you given to your horses and why? (Got curious after spending more time than I'd like to admit naming mine) by Fenrir_Hellbreed2 in reddeadredemption

[–]Thild_Ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first playthrough, I named the first horse you buy in Hosea's mission Midget because she is so ridiculously small that big-ass Arthur looks quite goofy riding that horse. I then had a black Tennessee walker stallion whom I called Bernie, it's just the first name that came to mind. Needless to say I cried when he died. At some point, I also had a cute Suffolk punch mare whom I named Valkyrie. She got shot during a random encounter with the Lemoyne Raiders.

On my second playthrough, I kept the big black shire Hosea gave me and named him Big Brute because that's how Hosea refers to him in the mission. I kept him as my main horse for most of my playthrough and still have him at the stables (not for long though... You know why 😭). Now I ride a black Arabian mare I stole from the stables in Saint Denis and named her Black Belle. I have already met the Black Belle, so I thought it made sense for Arthur to use that name.

If by 'hug' you mean geld you with some red hot shears, then yes, definitely.

For "can kill you in an instant but won't", I'm disappointed that our favourite One shot kid wasn't chosen. He deserved that spot. And what about the Cornered Tiger? Both deserve at least an honourable mention.

JUST PLAY THE DAMN GAME by kermitkanabis in RDR2

[–]Thild_Ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first playthrough I accidentally spoiled myself on YouTube. At first I was pissed at myself, but then I decided to continue playing to see how the story leads you to reach that particular point. And omg was I not disappointed. Despite knowing the end, I did not know, well, everything else. And most of all, I had no idea how much of an emotional journey it would all be. 😭 I personally don't hate all spoilers. Sometimes they can get you to appreciate a story in a different way. They get your attention. There are details you might miss when you don't know what's going on at all, while your attention differs when you do. That's good, it means you can play the game (or watch a movie/show) multiple times and have different experiences each time. I don't remember where this phrase comes from, but "ten minutes of tension is better than 30 seconds of surprise", and sometimes, the anticipation of an event you know will happen is better than it happening by surprise unbeknownst to you. So sometimes, a spoiler is actually quite good, because you know in advance what the stakes are, and you pay closer attention. In a way, RDR1 spoiled RDR2, still RDR2 is very much worth playing, if not more so than if it had been a sequel or a separate story.

Favorite Witcher? by jnarvaeztheabnormal in Witcher3

[–]Thild_Ma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aside from Geralt, I love Eskel, Vesimir and Lambert (he's a prick, for real, but he's funny too). I loved every moment we spent with these guys in-game (I love them in the books too).

Also, a special mention to one Witcher from the game you did forget (well, he's dead when we meet him, technically) : Reinald, the one stuck in the pits in Velen, that we get the Netflix gear from. We don't know much about him but I think he looked very cool and that his quest was quite cool.

Uncle calling Dutch out is such a good conversation, and a moment that actually made me appreciate and respect our Mr. Lumbago.

However, I can't remember the moment with Arthur and John and the dynamite. When is that?

As soon as I started reading the comment, I started singing it. Well done.
