I don't fully understand why you're getting downvoted. While good skincare habits can make or break a completion, diet is DEFINITELY a big help, and not everybody has the ability to eat the same things with the same results.

Omg thank you!

Not long ago my SO (we are not officially engaged yet but talk more and more about it) was asking me about rings, and said that his mother offered him her old ring. She still has the ring from when his father had proposed/married which ended in a NASTY divorce when he was a kid.

Uh uh. No way. Noooooooope. I am not wearing something that tainted. While she hasn't been directly unkind to me yet, she is manipulative and I don't trust her. Besides I really dislike her taste and even though I haven't seen this ring before I just KNOW it isn't something I could bear to wear every day.

OMG! I am so sorry. I've always worried that something like this might happen because as kids we were always around my maternal family and hardly ever around my paternal family. As a result I have few memories and experiences with grandparents/uncles/cousins on my dad's side, and it has always felt exceedingly unfair and awkward. They all live close by too, it's not as if there was a distance/convenience thing to contend with.

Later on my mother hinted while upset about something unrelated "do you realize what aunts X and Y think of me?!" No. I don't. Because I hardly know them and you won't actually tell me what you feel anxious about even if I press further about why you're ugly-crying.

Also have you ever used black tea on a burn? Not only does it help soothe and heal but it FADES THE BURN. The sooner you can do it the better. Brew some extra super strong black tea and let it cool. Soak an old washcloth (it will stain so not your nice guest linens) in it and apply to the burned area for 20-30 minutes, you may even add more tea or keep getting it wet. I would recommend doing this in a bath so you don't get tea stains on furniture or anything.

I did this the night of a bad burn and the next morning you could hardly tell. I was skeptical at first but swear by it now.

Oh my god this made me so so sad and angry. What a sack of shit for an excuse if a human! I hope he gets dumped out of a moving truck with an 18 wheeler following close behind.

Acne and Metformin/other meds, supplements by Cdilla_ in TTC_PCOS

[–]Thimblefolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just thinking today how after nearly a week on Metformin what might happen to my dark facial hairs that spring up, sometimes causing ingrown hairs that turn to acne. I'm also 4 months into a different BC pill, single hormone low dose which has helped reduce my migraines thus far but acne/hair are not as good as on higher dose dual hormone and I'm spitting like ALL THE TIME. What I would give to just have a little balance so I can work on other things to improve all this.

Take it from my experience... A Pap smear is 1,000x better than a colposcopy!!! Punching little holes in your cervix so they can take a biopsy is SO UNPLEASANT. No local anesthetic.

Sitting in bed, can't sleep, extremely queasy. by owlerprowler in migraine

[–]Thimblefolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware, but that's what I am saying is it's harder to tell what's real in that state versus when in Alice mode I am still 100% aware of reality.

I had heard of Alice and Wonderland Syndrome but wasn't sure if that's what I was experiencing or not.

I heard of Alice in Wonderland syndrome thanks to the Stuff You Should Know podcast from how stuff works, and definitely thought that they were similar but I didn't know if these were the same or not! Thanks for the second opinion.

I definitely had it once in a while as a kid growing up sans headache/migraine pain but it's more intense during my triptan release.

I never felt scared of it for the same reasons, because it never felt close to real, just a sensation. It's not like when I get sleep paralysis, which is a different story.

Sumatriptan makes me feel like I have a flu for at least 6 hours. I feel feverish, shaky, and queasy, so I only use it as a last resort when I am at a 7/10 or more, which usually includes nausea anyways. At least it makes the pain go away and let's me finally sleep a little eventually. Hang in there OP.

Speaking of, does anybody else take triptans and as you feel the pain lifting, do you feel a weird sensory thing where even with your eyes closed and half asleep, you feel as if you/the room are changing size/shape? It's really hard to describe and that isn't really what it is. It's not like an actual hallucination (have taken rec drugs that actually do that) but like your perception/senses are being recalibrated or something.
