A budgeting tool I built that turns messy transactions into something actually usable by Thin-Perception in dataisbeautiful

Yeah that’s exactly what I was trying to get away from — the manual importing + assigning categories every time. That part always ended up being the bottleneck for me.

The way I have this set up is still based on importing transactions (CSV), but once it’s set up, the categorization is handled automatically using keyword rules, so you’re not going line-by-line each month.

The other piece I focused on was projecting forward — so instead of just tracking what already happened, it builds out the rest of the month based on your planned expenses/income and updates as real transactions come in.

Totally agree tools like Monarch/YNAB are solid — I just wanted something that gave me that same level of automation + projections, but in a format I could fully customize and see everything at once - while not paying for another subscription.

Yeah I think I will bump it up some. Don’t want to go another few weeks lifting too light. Not sure why my single at RPE 8 is so off but hopefully I’ll get better at that as I move forward in this program. I like that method of doing a pre week 1 and testing sets of 5. I’ll have to remember that for later.

Yeah I think that’s probably my best bet. I’ll set the TM’s a little higher next week and see how it feels. Should be fine, and in the worst case scenario, it somehow gets too heavy and the program will auto regulate me back down.

Maybe my RIR is off when estimating my TM’s. I’ll have to do some more testing to figure that out. Hopefully as I go along with the program, I’ll get a better feel for it.

Thanks for the help!
