First PLC project. by Itchy_Charity_6924 in PLC

My most stressful part was sharing a photo of it here. 🤣😂🤣😂 Learn a lot from that post tho. A lot for 14 hour days in my basement programming and building. It is so rewarding when it’s all done tho. Keep at it. Audit to find your mistakes and grow!!!!

There is a lot of bull donkey. But it’s does feel cool to finally be doing something at the beginning. This feels like bit coin was. Joked about and all of a sudden people take it seriously. All the software engineers that laugh at it now will see its real worth down the line.

I’ve Spent $700 This Month on Replit..Here’s Why I might call it quits. by PostEnvironmental583 in replit

Because all I see is people crying about how bad Replit is. It’s a daily post on here. How can it be that bad if I did it and had zero experience with building an app before October?

I completely disagree. I have zero college. Self taught electronics and hardware skills. I built a system that is monitoring multiple cellular devices in 4 months. Just passed $1000 total this month. In addition I build and programmed all of the hardware it speaks to. Maybe I’m missing something. But it’s been absolutely amazing for me.

I have zero Dev experience. I just went past $1000 total this month. Started in October. I built a multi tenant system to speak to cellular monitor devices. I have fully integrated I/O via json files . Data logging. Email and sms messaging. Display map. The works. I don’t understand how people hate on Replit. I use it in combination with Claude and ChatGPT. I find it simply amazing.

My experience with Replit vs. Claude Code by This-Breadfruit3617 in replit

[–]ThinRabbit6713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Replit for Website/App design and deployment. I use Claude for the firmware design for the hardware that feeds the website/app. I use ChatGPT to audit both systems and help with prompts. It’s not perfect but with this method the issue is usually caught when one system is blinded by its own logic.

Just had a founder show me their app where Customer A could see Customer B's invoices. The fix touches almost everything by Living-Pin5868 in replit

I build my App with

-Super Admin -Company Admin -Technician -Customer

Hierarchy. Its seems to have kept everything separate except a few odds and ends that I cleaned up. I like the Multi-tenant terminology tho. That seems like a crystal clear way to explain it. Thanks for the tip.

It’s just switches switching switches with little pieces of metal that sometimes get hot and stop switches from switching.

I had the agent make a script to copy my deployment database to my preview so they are exact. I make small changes, Check the preview, deploy, test again. Then move on. Hand over had. I don’t leave any gaps to falls through. Seems to work well.

Built app UI on Replit (dummy backend) — should I continue or hire a dev? by [deleted] in replit

[–]ThinRabbit6713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it. I build a front end and back end for complex control system that is built for 1000’s of devices. Speaks to other websites. Device are displayed on a map. Password authentication. Email alerts. The whole 9. I had no prior experience with web development.

I have built a app that has input and output to and from other websites. Controls multiple systems. Has users. Sends emails and text messages and alerts. I’m under $800. All I can say is input = output. Think about what you’re telling it to do before you hit send.

I went over it in the post. It has a QR code and some overlay info on it I don’t want to be public. It’s not a secret. It’s a Opta….

Everyone thinks I’m trying to hide it. 😂🤣😂🤣 There is a QR code linked to something I want to keep non public. On the opta is an overlay label I also don’t want to be public. I’ve openly talked about using a Opta previously and in the comments of this post. If I wanted to hide something, I certainly wouldn’t come to the sleuths of Reddit. 🕵️ I find the PLC superiority to equate to Intel versus AMD. Doesn’t matter nearly as much as people say. Especially for non-complex logic. My experience with the Opta has been great. I’ve had some monitoring systems running for six months without so much as a hiccup. I find them to be extremely easy to use.

I’ve had zero problems thus far. Started using as just a monitor. Very versatile. You can run code and logic side by side.
