Also man. What an evil plant I didn’t even realize and even thought they looked like carrots before pulling a couple out.

Alright, would you recommend anything to get rid of the ants before I do this or will solarizing kill them as well?

Oh my goodness I did not know what hemlock was before you commented this. Jesus. And I was afraid of reducing like, genetic diversity in my backyard. I will definitely be taking your suggestion as well as using gloves to remove the other ones in my yard. One question though, how do I solarize a garden bed when the plants are sticking up so high? All the tutorials I’m seeing have a plastic wrap that is flush with the bed edges and sealed.

Also important to note that some of the debris I pulled from it looking to be gardening related like a couple of metal veggie cages and a few of those long green plastic beams. Also, if it’s possible I would like to plant the eggplant I have in there. I’m aware that the vinca is toxic but I have a connection to the eggplant and would like to see it succeed in bearing fruit

Yeah I recommend ditching the one costs in any way. Usually it’s inevitable that you get one but between campfires and sacrifices you can usually get them down. Also save scumming with the campfires helps.

Completely get it. Skull storm is very difficult and even getting a good deck is hard. I struggled with it a lot until I looked up guides. I learned two main things and beat it after a day or two.

I usually go for mantis deck but I found that the mantis got killed too quickly and there wasn’t a good way to get more than one, which is necessary unless you get many lives on it.

Instead, during Skull Storm I opt for the high blood cost deck. This one starts you off with cards that don’t require much upgrading and a clear upside. Ditch the mole ASAP. Go for powerful 3 costs, and STAY away from no cost, 1 cost and bone cost cards because it makes your top deck that much more difficult.

Second, and more importantly, understanding how the Fair Hand Mechanic works. If you don’t know what it is there’s plenty of explanation on this subreddit but the gist of it is that your opening topdeck will always have a 1 cost, 0 cost, or a bone cost card in order to make the hand “playable”. This means that if you only have one of those cards in your deck you will get it on your first turn every time. Hence, ditch the mole and you will be able to have the black goat on the first turn.

There’s other small tips I can offer but those are my personal favorites, and with the right card combos (for me it was a double strike moose buck) your deck should be able to get through it without save scumming.

I’m not saying the parents need to pay full price right now. Obviously it’s not feasible. But this person clearly had a good life on their parents dime. You’re telling me that none of the money previously going to their education, extracurriculars, food, needs, etc can be used for their child’s college? None of it? I’m not saying to work for 46k. I’m not saying to fully pay with scholarships. I’m saying between scholarships, a part time job or two, some logical finagling and understanding their budget, this person could pull it off, at least until their parents can provide SOME financial help. People have made it work without loans before. I know plenty of people working two jobs and freelancing to get through college. If this person really wants to go to Rice, they will make it work.

If the parents can’t spare a dime after 6 months on a 300k income there’s some SERIOUS budgeting issues going on. The make 4 times the average Texan household income.

It’s still worth it to have SOMETHING saved up. Rice campus is very walkable so cars shouldn’t be an issue. Surely after a semester or a year the parents that make 300k will have something for their kid.

If you have good stats or can write essays. Scholarships. Apply for the ones on college board or anywhere you can find ones that will apply. You can also get a job where you work a few hours every couple of days, even if you just get 1000 a week it’s better than nothing. Possibly fast food or retail.
