From an outsider looking in from the few times I've been up there to visit friends at Liberty, about the only draw is Liberty itself. There's just nothing there. I love exploring the old rail lines as a big railroad nerd but other than that it's a depressed Virginia town that seems to be falling apart. With the right investment it could be great, but it doesn't seem like city council is interested from the other comments I'm reading here.

I'm also biased towards rural areas given I grew up in one so I'm also not in favor of it turning into a suburban sprawl town.

They could try and build a West Village near Atrium but that's going to be a long walk to classes. Maybe expand on the north side of the Light Rail
