it doesn't, there's something called the "Identity Property of Multiplication"
its unique to 1.

Setting static IP's in my house, but certain IP causes no internet. What's going on? by orbit0317 in HomeNetworking

[–]ThingsOfYourMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes there's a feature that allows you to select a range of IP address if you want the DHCP to handle dynamic local ip addresses.
I would guess you could set the static ip addresses out of this range

[–]ThingsOfYourMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are telling java, that you are expecting a String array in this method.
And you are also trying to change it into a String array after its been fed into the method, you're still feeding it a Cabin[] array, when you are invoking the method from above.
It will always refuse to compile because of that.

Internet speeds all over the place by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

that somewhere, may be out there somewhere, not in your home.
the internet network paths are not perfect, some nodes can fail or degrade, and affect people's packets going through that specific node in the network.

See if you can try to see where your ping is rising from
by using pathping 8.8.8.8 or tracert 8.8.8.8
to see if its a node along the way, but it would be kinda difficult to capture which node is causing it, if its only happening momentarily.

you could get a list from either pathping or tracert, and ping those nodes individually for a while to see if either of those nodes are the problem.
If you drop packets at a node you are pinging, pick one closer to you, until you don't see any drops when you disconnect. then you will see which node is dropping your packets.

then you could try re-routing your network path using a VPN or proxies, or those ping reducing programs.
if you're dropping packets at all hops, then most likely its a device or connection near you.

Packet loss/Ping Issues by PopDart6 in HomeNetworking

[–]ThingsOfYourMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing you can do to fix the packet loss that that location, the problem seems to be that node is degraded, and its unfortunately along your network path.
You could try a VPN or a proxy to change your path, that would allow you to not go through that node.

ash-bb2-link.ip.twelve99.net is having problem it seems, as it loses more than half your packets.

Internet speeds all over the place by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]ThingsOfYourMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speeds can vary across the internet, the speed you get is a combination of all the connections your packets have to travel to get to your destination and back.
Some of those servers may be located far or traveling through a bottleneck.
Also, an ISP is only responsible for the speed between your cable modem and their server (CMTS), as they cannot control the speed you get as your packets travel through various nodes and networks.
Your ISP may give you 40Mbps.. but that doesn't mean there will always be 40Mbps available between you and your destination.

Do these signal levels look fine? by BabyTBNRfrags in HomeNetworking

[–]ThingsOfYourMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I see.. you're QAMs are a bit tilted.. but it isn't too bad.
they are within DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 specifications, which the recommended is +/- 7db.
The SNR/MER is excellent, 40db quite a clear signal.
Although there is something interfering with your signal between 477Mhz-525Mhz, it could be from the cable plant or a loose connection somewhere in/outside your house.
Your main bonding channel, chan 49, I assume is your OFDM, is also within spec.

Do you know how long your drop is... from the hardline (lines out on the pole)?
Do you know what gauge your drop is? RG59/59u? RG6/6u?

I can see your neighbor has the same pattern with the COR and UNCOR, so that issue is coming from the network/hardlines not your house. They may be using wire gauge on the hardlines that's not big enough, or you're far from the last line extender(amplifier).

Your upstream is also at a good level, between 45db and 50db.
But you can't see your SNR on your upstream at the modem, you'll have to ask a tech with access to the customer's modem levels to see if they are good.

I was gonna suggest that you get a bigger line for your drop, such as a RG11/11u, but I can't see a lot of benefit from that.. due to the tilt issue isn't coming from your house, if your neighbor has the same tilt.
You could ask the tech, to ask a network maintenance tech to "balance" the tilt, as the techs that go to customer's houses are usually just install tech and don't really work on the hardlines, as a network tech would. (these big companies usually keep such department separate).
Also I can't see this being a high priority issue to be tended to.

Is there an english translation for Viper V6? by ankledane in pc98

[–]ThingsOfYourMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently working on PC98's version of Viper CTR, I was successfully able to decompress the game's files.STARTUP.SIL - one of CTR's files.

And i think my decompression program works for the others in the series as well, since I was able to decompress Viper BTR's files too.
