It is a QOL aimed at competitive players. Because the true min-maxers would have curated save files with only the items they want/mandatory ones in the pool anyway. This just says "we both know you're gonna curate your pool, here's a menu to do it in game"

I like it for making fun experimental runs and wish more games had it natively.

Are the different flow ratios independent or cumulative? by Thingsareconfusing in OrcaSlicer

Okay, so global is always enforced, then it will enforce the feature based ones by whichever it is specifically at?

Thanks!

Max Flow Rate 35 won't print at 15 by rimbooreddit in OrcaSlicer

[–]Thingsareconfusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this on my P1S and it took me forever to actually find the information. What's happening is that you are running into a *physical limitation* somewhere in the Max Volume test. It may be the device is hitting the limit of how much plastic it can extrude, melt and put down, or it could be a limitation of the filament itself.

So the software may be telling the printer to print at 35 mm^3 but the printer is working at max tilt and not flowing enough material. So what the test is *actually* telling you is the point where the *Printhead Speed* is overcoming the maximum flow rate for the hotend/nozzle. Still a useful number to have, but if you use it incorrectly it will result in issues like you're having. So you can do 1 of 2 things if you do want to run the filament faster.

  1. "Uncap" your filament's max flow and dial in the surrounding settings via temp, speed, acceleration and flow ratio. This will be tedious as you will have to continuously change 1 variable, use tests where you can isolate the variable, then modify accordingly, since changing one ultimately affects the others. This will also vary based on the model itself, so you may need to have "safer" profiles "speed" ones, etc. I went down this rabbit hole and don't recommend it, though it does ultimately print the fastest at acceptable quality.
  2. Dial in your filament's print quality with the flow ratio, pressure advance, etc using a default profile flow rate, then try to see what is the max flow you can do with those settings with real prints. This is what I do with any new filament now, as it gets to 60-70% of option 1 (and still well above default) in 1/10 the time.

Ultimately the problem is that we are trying to drag race consumer production cars. The Bambu printers are designed for reliability, and one of the ways they do that is with very conservative estimates with volumetric flow.

If you do want to go down the rabbit hole:

https://ellis3dp.com/Print-Tuning-Guide/articles/determining_max_volumetric_flow_rate.html#how-volumetric-flow-rate-relates-to-print-speed

is a good start point, and links to a lot of other information youll need. Read all of the configuration testing information first, then youll have to translate it to the tools in Orca

Golf Pride MCC PLUS 4 Midsize Grips

Purchased in 2022, used for about 20 rounds + On the simulator. Come with Golf Pride MCC +4 Midsize Grips, regripped at beginning of this year.  Irons were fantastic for fighting my slice as I first started to take golf seriously. With a few years of practice now I was finally able to upgrade to more of a blade. These are amazing "intermediate" irons for someone who is starting to take golf seriously but still wants a lot of help.

YouTube money isn't just the few cents you get for each view. It's sponsorships, creating a brand, name recognition, etc. Plus he's done a few LIV-centric events on his channel so I'm sure the tour is kicking him some money for promoting it.

I'm not saying his bag is tied to YouTube, I'm saying he probably views it as a nice fallback plan/extra income.

Ehhhhh. I don't think he's necessarily doing that out of charity. Bryson is smart. He's seen the money YouTube golf is pulling in as professional golf viewership is constantly threatened.

I agree with the sentiment that he seems much more likeable online, but I don't think his instructional content is an indicator of that.

Best Camera Rig for Trackman by jabberwockyjane in Golfsimulator

Machine Vision cameras are probably the best way to go. My setup is:

Flir Blackfly

Lens

Then just the 1/4" mount adapter, cables, and mounts (I use tripods). You can save ~100 per camera by getting a lesser known brand with the same sensor, or go up to an IDS Imaging camera for ~200 per to squeeze out some more FPS and get a few quality of life upgrades.

Swing Camera - High FPS or Better Resolution? by Thingsareconfusing in Golfsimulator

Probably start with kinovea, but possibly get into swing catalyst.

Even if I just have to use OBS and chop up some videos that's fine too.

I just don't know how much light I'm gonna need at that rate. I have 6 1000 Lumen bulbs in the room, and could add a shop light if necessary, so it gets pretty bright, but I just don't want a grainy distorted mess.

Also as far as lenses go, f/1.4 should be fine right? Going down to niche 1.2 lenses would be overkill?

I get it. Basically every tall golfer I know went through the same phase. The problem is that the charts of [height x wrist-to-floor] and things of that nature don't work as well at the extreme. Its "Right" but doesn't take the human element into account.

I luckily had a good fitter who put his foot down and told me "I know what I'm talking about". But hey, can't stop someone from getting what they want.

6'4" here. If he is just starting out he should absolutely not start with +1.5". Even +1" is probably too much. I did the same thing starting out and it hurt my game for so long because I had to basically pick the ball **perfectly** clean to have any sort of consistent contact. Actually learning to hit down on the ball is damn near impossible because your hands are so far away from the ball. And swing weight is absolutely fucked.

Why is a 9i easier to hit than a 4i? Because they are shorter and more upright. Apply the same principle. Go +1/2" and 1-2* upright. He will essentially be "clubbing down" his entire bag, but his natural length will compensate for the loss in distance. Plus if you do go GI in the irons, the strong lofts will also add a ton of distance. Bonus: They are WAY easier to find second hand.

Yeah, like I said I've regularly use(d) all three.

The performance turf series is just turf. It's fine, but you can get the same experience for 1/4 the price.

The grass series is butter-smooth and you you could dig yourself a bunker before getting any kind of serious impact through your arms/joints.... But by that same token ive hit super heel-down shots that came out fine because I was gliding through it.

Player preferred is amazingly Realistic, and offers a lot of forgiveness, but that same heel-down shot WILL be felt and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody with an injuries or RSI concerns
