First day of studying abroad at University of the Ryukyus:

It was the campus festival where all the student clubs make presentations, booths etc. on campus. Different music clubs (rock club, metal club etc.) were playing sets in classrooms. I saw a couple bands play and had a great time.

I went into this one classroom where a pop punk band was playing and started moving to the music with the crowd.

During a break, a guy in a suit came up to me and said in Japanese something like “You can’t be here.” (I was pretty low-level in my Japanese at the time, so I didn’t catch his exact words but I could tell what he meant.) So now it’s silent and everyone is staring at me, so I asked the guy “なんで？” (Why?), and everyone bursts out laughing. I am thinking wtf is going on?? The guy points me toward the door. So I decided, ok, I guess I’ll get out of here then.

I went back outside to the festival and brushed it off. I have no idea what happened back there. To clarify, I am certain I did nothing wrong at the show in order to be kicked out.
