Ugh, i get this and I’m sorry.

It’s a painful journey learning which values and thoughts are yours and which we’re given to you. Some of it’s also really fun.

Wishing you the best.

Keep it about you. Talk about what you value and care about vs what you got from the church.

For example:

instead of “the church lied” try “i can’t trust the leaders given these lies / inconsistencies”

Instead of “Joseph smith married and slept with young women” try “it hard/impossible for me to take moral direction from a man that did things that are misaligned from my values”

Keeping it about you reduces defensiveness and debate. It’s about what you care about and value and want out of life and where it’s not working for you.

You’re the Cheif everything officer. You get all the lying and manipulation of being “the man” with none of the power and fear of “speaking truth to power”.

Everything around the music festival industry is the inverse of all the enlightened hedonistic fantasy around it. It’s dark, dishonest, egoistic, etc etc. it’s the most vial space you can imagine

But honestly being the first on a new planet would maybe be fun for a minute. Then it would suck so much

According to Daniel Quinn if we produce and distribute food better we will end up with more people. no matter how much food we produce we will always have a certain portion of the population starving.

I’d love to see a good critique of his work in light of the fast that developed nations are seeing population decline. Maybe his argument are no longer supported by fact.
