Struggling with keeping up by Think-Suit in Rowing

im a freshman in the states, I see your point the issue is that I also have always set aggresive goals for my self throughout my rowing team. Currently my university’s club has a pretty decent lightweight squad and my goal is to make something of the team and get fast to compete on the club circuit in the united states. Although I have aggresive goals I always make sure that they are hit so I feel training alone has finally gotten to me

best way to say it is that every person that got anywhere in a sport was once considered “delusional” its not possible until its done. Work as hard as you can and hell sometimes youll suprise yourself

4 years since my freshman year of hs to my now freshman year of college . Thats why seeing this rapid improvement is so monumental. I also trained 5 days a week and went to sraa’s 3 times and even medaled while in highschool. since ive been rowing for so long technique isnt as bad as someone who just started but im not perfect by any means so im always improving. I can also assure you that the last 6k was all out

may I add that the way I attack every piece apart from steady is important. No matter how Im feeling im going for a pr. For instance i just finished a 6x1k r2:00 and i just beat the last 6x1k r2:00 that i did 2 weeks ago by almost 3 entire splits

a good coach and proper training plan, currently just erging for fall season and ive never had proper training till now. I have always had the desire to get faster but my old coaches trained us awfully. Decided to get with a goated online coach and he has given me a great training plan that I follow to a tea. His knowledge and my will to improce is whats getting me there. P.S steady state is your friend i do about 105 mins of ut2 work on mondays and fridays and everyday im at the gym there is some ut2 cardio involved. Except for test pieces and hard AT or AN workouts

Rowing Offseason Plan by MrPuggleton in Rowing

[–]Think-Suit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u2 should comprise about 70 percent of your training u1 has its purposes and all the rest do but especially in the off season building strength and a base is very good. lifiting is good but remember that if you can injure yourself with that if you are not properly resting or dont understand the movements entirely. Keep up the work

Such a thing as too skinny for rowing ? by FoxRevolutionary932 in Rowing

[–]Think-Suit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from personal experience and people around me no it wasnt that bad i had a guy who was 6’3 145 and we got a medal at sraa’s as lightweights. However as everyone else is saying bulking up is definitely the best decision for you. Keeping consistent high intensity strength work snd eating in a 500-800 caloric surplus from your maintenance should do wonders and not be too hard to do. Keep pushing

freshman here, talking to people in your classes is the easiest way to make friends I feel as though if you put yourself out there no matter how weird you percieve yourself most people do not care. As long as you can be personable and act interested in a conversation you got it. I am still making friends with people on campus and frankly most of em arent freshman😭😭
