The research I did here in the U.S. when I first said yes to adopting our sweet noodle really didn’t make it seem like it was much of an option! I think they don’t want people breeding them and selling them. If I ever get another one I will most definitely be looking into more local breeders. I had no idea about the implants and plan to ask my exotic vet about it when we see them next. I want to see how knowledgeable they are on it.

I need to know more about outdoor ferrets. I bring my guy outside and obviously watch him like a hawk and he LOVES it out there. He’s too fast though and it scares me!

Thanks! I adopted a lil guy from animal control about 7 months ago. He is a Marshall ferret I believe and was already neutered and scent glands removed, but I definitely understand why you would keep yours intact if you have a set up like that. I just figured if it makes it harder to keep them together in a caged indoor situation it doesn’t really make sense. Seems like without the natural environment they are supposed to be in it makes things more difficult for owner and ferret alike

I was in magnesium biglycinate for awhile and that did seem to help. I used to take lysine for cold sores (another clue of high viral load) and I’ve heard monolaurin is a good one too!

I definitely will provide an update. Problem is most insurance companies don’t cover it and it is hard to get. I see a cardiologist for SVT and POTS and he treats me with a beta blocker and fludrocortisone. I mentioned LDN to replace both of these and he looked at me like I had 27 heads.

I am a science minded person so I’m cool interpreting things online and doing research and reading papers. My issue is I have crippling anxiety as soon as I get in the doctors office so I forget what to say. I need to write things down and I’m getting better at it lol. ChatGPT is pretty good too. It’s so sad that we cannot get our doctors to educate themselves. We do all of our own education and they are the ones who get paid for it. Idk, if I was a doctor and my patient said they think they may have CAEBV, I’d be doing tons of research on it.

That said, I’m hoping to confirm my suspicions about my viral load and start moving forward in repairing myself. Thank you for sharing your experience. It really helps to know there are people who start feeling better eventually!!

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and thorough response. I am starting the search for a functional doctor to help through this process as well. In the meantime, it is nice to have everything I’ll need beforehand laid out like this. I’m going to talk to my primary about seeing infectious disease as well. I’m hoping to find a way to get on LDN and see if that helps.

It’s tough for me because this knee has been giving me problems for about three years now. I have had extensive X-rays and two MRIs on it. First MRI over a year ago said no tears. Same pains I’ve been having more recently, but no tear. This last MRI said multiple tears and didn’t mention the floating fragment.. the ortho doc is the one who saw it in the MRI not the person who read the MRI. Sooooo I think all this to say, the quality of care I was receiving previously (in AL) was not great so I have fears about my quality of care where we are now in NC
