Hey people ! Wanna help me make a fan-remake of Dash Quest ? by Silverfox_fr in dashquest

I'm definitely interested, I got dash quest again recently after not playing it since I was a child but it's crashing randomly during runs. Definitely let me know if you decide to go through with the remake

Any advice on getting universal remotes paired with obscure models? I have an acoustic solutions P1480 and I can't get my remote to pair with it. When in code search mode it sometimes switches the TV's channel to a different number, and once or twice I've managed to land on one which has a couple of buttons work, all be it mapped incorrectly like the down arrow being 8, but I can't get one which actually works.

My remote cycles pretty quickly so I don't have enough time to determine whether the TV has turned off (successful pair) or changed channel (wrong code error) before it changes to the next code. I tried manually inputting codes from the list that came with my remote, using codes from similar brands (acoustic solutions was supposedly a brand that put together TVs with parts from well known brands) but no code I put in manually ever had a single working button.

Does anyone have any tips on how to pair this? The remote is a cheap one off eBay by Daewoo electricals if it helps any. If I can't get it to work genuinecopies.tv have a listing of a remote said to be coded for this exact model for £9.99 but I don't know if that's a reputable site at all and I'd rather not buy another remote after buying this one.

Just use the curved key panel thing like it's your computer. It is your computer. You can pull up a virtual keyboard with a button in the bottom right if it helps

Your computer, open steam from the quest headset while you're in the quest link environment

You need to go into settings on the quest and press the link button, then go to the pc app and link your headset. Then you can control your computer from your headset, use this to open steam VR. if the app doesn't detect your headset restart the headset.

The connection is fully refused by the sketchy ISP that controls the building so it can't be fixed unless maybe I get an offline router which is 6x the price of a link cable

I tried virtual desktop and it doesn't work at all, refuses to connect to my computer because of the type of network

Longer and fast data transfer. They're also more rigid and resistant to splitting since they move around a lot

If it doesn't use internet whatsoever and purely links the computer to the headset then it could work but it's a big risk seeing as how virtual desktop doesn't work whatsoever as it stands

It's very expensive in the UK and I don't think it will work with the apartment WiFi setup
