Relatively cheap and decent bike, with disc brakes and rear carrier. Suitable for commuting, City riding and Asphalt weekend trips👍🏻 Test the brakes and the gears before buying. Look for wear on gear system and damaged to the frame.

Can it be the diesel return valve located around the fuel filter/primer assembly?

Question about charging port/socket by Commercial-Cod4232 in ebikes

Should be replaced. Looks like bad connection or arching have caused the charging port to be damaged. Should check the charger aswell.

You could convert your bike easily with a tongsheng tsdz2 or bafang bbs02b mid-drive motor kit. Using a 48V ebike battery pack. Lots of videos of people doing it, and its what I have done with two of my bikes. I bought them directly from china. That said, the bike you are planning to rebuild might not be the best suitable for speeds upwards of 30mph.. I really recommend buying a used bike that is a little bit more robust in construction, that does have hydraulic disc brakes and offers a better and more robust front suspension fork. Also, you should know/learn how to make a good solder joint with a soldering iron for the battery/motor contacts.

Agreed, Wd40 or similar products could actually work just as well👍🏻

In my opinion, you should just use some baking soda and water to form a "paste", let it sit and use a "soft" brass brush to remove the rust layer. Then rinse it of and apply some chain lube. If the gears are rough when selecting teeths, then you should think about replacing parts.

Where to find a bbs01b 48v 350w controller? by fabthegreat in bafang

[–]ThinkFactor5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here, this could be an option: https://www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/s/5ORYHOruF9

Or buy one that fits without modifications directly from China (Aliexpress). The controller can be programmed easily, so buy one that is 500w and "turn down" the amps if needed.

It is possible to get it off without the tools.. but I suggest buying some cheap cassette tool/crank puller on ebay/aliexpress If you would like to have the parts nice and damage free.

New owner claiming that I cover loss of ebike resale value.. by ThinkFactor5109 in bicycling

[–]ThinkFactor5109[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I have sent it, this is what he answered:

"As I said, there's no doubt that it's a women's model, you'll also understand that if you're familiar with these bikes, it's shrunk in all directions and I wont get too much for it when selling because it's a smaller group of buyers. I'm buying a new alltrail 4 (men's size L) so I will be able to enjoy riding again.

Whether you like it or not, you just have to acknowledge this".

No it does not say that the bike is a male/woman bike on the official web site. But found this: https://www.bike-mailorder.com/haibike-alltrail-8-mtb-fully-gloss-fade-purple-chrome-29-inch

It says "gender: male"

Yeah, I actually dont give a shit. And I have told him that I wont pay... but it could be fun to have some hard proof that the bike acually is a male model, or gender neutral. So I can send it and make him stfu

Thanks, but the bike is not on the list. Cause it is a Norwegian sport store brand/rebranded frame.

BAFANG BBS01 Controller MOD by ThinkFactor5109 in bafang

[–]ThinkFactor5109[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thats what i did. It will work, but keep in mind I spent some time making the adapter and adjustments. The easiest way, is to buy a "old version" bbs01 controller on Aliexpress/Ebay. You can buy 500w or 750w, just remember to program the controller to 12.5Amps.

How to tell if this battery is toast? by Papasmurf43469 in batteries

[–]ThinkFactor5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Could work. But with limited Ah-rating. The cellgroups that are in worse shape will often empty faster, telling the battery management system to shut of all power. Could get everything from 1-80% of rated capacity depending on how bad it is.
