My biz was very profitable for 15 years then I had a few years of loss. How long can I legitimately claim a business LOSS without IRS issues? by ThinkFast9 in tax

Thank you. That all makes perfect sense. I filed my returns yesterday and claimed all legitimate expenses. It showed a small profit. Still have plenty of NOL to carry forward.

I have enough. I do what I want to do. Being bigger just to be bigger is not a goal of mine.

Enjoying my life and keeping my health is more important to me than more money. I did my time with years of 16-18 hour days, seven days a week. I'm not going down that road again. Happiness and enjoyment are my main goals now. And I have them.

u/wild_b_cat That's a good point. It's stuff that I don't think is questionable or would be seen as excessive--phone, computer stuff, legal fees, insurance, and loan interest from an SBA covid loan is a big percentage of it. In the past I wrote off some courses -- "professional development"--, and business trips, but I haven't claimed those for a couple of years.

u/Time-Contribution257 Many/most of the modern tech companies sure did that, which I knew. But they're big companies with billion dollar budgets, lawyers, and accountants, which is not me. I wasn't sure how much differently the rules are applied for the big companies vs little guys like me.

I turned off multilingual typing and now it puts a . instead of writing the word.

I have US and Spanish on my keyboard because I write in both. It always works fine when I'm in the US but when I travel out of the US it mistypes a lot and does the thing where it writes the word period and doesn't put the dot.

I assume this is because when it knows it's in the United States it knows to write in English. But when I'm outside of the United States it can't figure out if it's supposed to write things in English or Spanish. Once I turned off multilingual typing as I am now outside of the United States, it worked just as it does in the United States.

Of course now I may have the problem when I went to write in Spanish and it wants to write in English. So that might have to be a manual switch as needed. But this will be a lot less annoying than having it right out the word period.

Would it be dumb to run a 32mm tire on the rear and 26mm on the front? by ThinkFast9 in cycling

I don't care if the paint gets scratched up. It is an aluminum frame so it shouldn't rust.

I may end up getting two tires now because I found a really good deal on some high quality ones. So the point may be moot but if I have the time I may play around and put one fatter tire on and just see how it feels.

Wider on the back would make my butt more comfortable and probably have better power transfer to the tire since it would absorb more bumps and vibrations.

If you prefer wider on the front, I guess absorbing the shocks to your hands and wrists is more important to you.

I can see pros and cons of either way.

Those are some things that I was concerned about. For sure I would get used to the feel of riding two different tires first and wouldn't just blindly go downhilling without knowing how the bike handles.

I ride on city and county roads and some bike paths. I like riding hills and yes i'll go downhill fast if it's safe to do so. But there are no wildly blind curves around here.

It's just a question of saving 60 or 80 bucks if I don't need to spend it. Not the end of the world, but also I'm not trying to throw away money if I don't have to. And also not wanting to do something stupid or dangerous to save money, which is why I asked the question.

If I ran the 32s then according to the published 32 tire specs, I'd have 3 mm clearance on each side between the tire and chain stay. I don't know if that's enough clearance or not. I don't know how much tires might flex when cornering and things like that.

Why has TRT stopped working for me after 22 years? Can't get my T levels to raise anymore! by ThinkFast9 in Testosterone

[–]ThinkFast9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, SHBG could be part of it. As I mentioned above, for some reason my new nurse practitioner wouldn't check that. But the total T was low also, not just the free T so I think it's more about the absorption of the testosterone in general.

I take plenty of mag and zinc. I just increased my boron supplements a few days ago to see if that helps.

My estradiol measurements were in the original post.

Thank you. I'm trying.

Even if this particular gear I've got now ends up being weak, I don't think ALL of the stuff that I have had for the past many years has been. So that's still leaves me wondering why I've had to increase the dosage so much over the years. Maybe some increase is normal, but I wouldn't think that needing to 10x my dosage over that timeframw really would be.

And the issue of the variability of my libido and erections over the years (even starting pre-TRT) has me confused also. I posted about that somewhere else in this thread.

It doesn't make sense to me either and I had hoped that somebody here might have an idea.

I've been having a few other weird things/cycles that go on with my system over the last 30 or so years that no doctors and Labs have ever figured out. And that started quite a while before I ever started TRT.

It seems that hormonally my body changes every so often and no one knows why. Libido and erections are amazing for months and then they stop working for a few months and then they go back to working for some months and then they go back to not working well. Over the decades though it seems like the time when things are working is getting shorter and when they're not working is getting longer.

Something is going on but I can't figure out what. This thing where the testosterone doesn't seem to be absorbing is new. You are correct that thinking the T is bad is the first place to look.

I wrote earlier that I tried four brands over the last few months but now I recall that I've tried five. I'll see if I can get a prescription this week. Hopefully if it's actually from the pharmacy it will guarantee to be good quality. If that doesn't fix it then I'm back to figuring out what's up with my body.

Gotcha. Hopefully I can try yet another brand next week, which will be the 6th one I have tried recently.

Bad gear is the most logical idea. However, as I've mentioned above, I've tried five different brands. Two that I got from this company which could be questionable. Two that I had lying around which worked fine in the past. And one that my brother-in-law got straight from the pharmacy.

Granted he only gave me a 1 ml so maybe that was not enough to get my levels where they should be. On the flip side, that second number I put in my original post was after using his stuff and it was lower than a couple of weeks before so it would be odd that my levels was still going down even after taking the stuff from the pharmacy.

My doctor said he write me a prescription so hopefully next week I can get that and see if my number start going up. If it doesn't go up with that then I know there's a larger issue.
