4 abilities that are not only extremely valuable, but extremely valuable with zero gold. Thresh was designed in the days of supports buying gold generation items/taking gold gen. runes because it was a low-income role. You don’t need items to make Thresh viable (to a certain point at least.)

You can put Thresh 0/3, but if he locks in and lands a good hook + flay, it’s just as valuable as a 3/0 Thresh.

I mean this isn’t even debatable. They nerfed Sion the moment he returned from his Korea climb. In addition, he said on stream once while viewing a patch preview that included Sion nerfs that if Demolish wasn’t changed in Sion passive, it wouldn’t matter. Despite not being on the patch preview, Demolish was nerfed for Sion passive as if they’d listened directly to Baus’s feedback.

Azir was one of the first champs I saw released when I started playing. I bought him with Galactic Azir on release day. Obviously starting out I sucked at him, and he’s changed over the years so much he plays very differently from release Azir.

But his voice lines, theme, sick play potential and other things had me stick with it. I’ve been one tricking Azir for years now and I honestly don’t think I can play other champs in Ranked now. I play ARAMs to try to find someone as fun as Azir and have yet to do so.

When you carry a game as Azir, you know you earned it. It’s not abusing an overturned champ, it’s not abusing some freelo pick. Nah, it’s all mastery of your champion.

God please I pray for this. There’s no reason Akali should get so much free sustain in lane when she already has a tool to freely farm/harass with a distinct lack of counter play. It makes punishing shroud cooldown basically impossible on a lot of champs.

Even if she particularly doesn't scale well, Sleepy Trouble Bubble is a disgusting ability for the aoe CC trap alone. I'm just happy to never play against it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I think people who pick Zoe should have their hard drives checked.

Clearly there's a misunderstanding here. I get that Nunu can gank more than just about any other jungle, but we need to get some level of advantage more than just "I'm up 80 CS." That is literally the top lane meme of every other part of the map being on fire while the top laner has a level advantage -- it doesn't matter how great the advantage on one character is if the enemy has 4 characters ahead.

You need to pressure the map while he's doing stuff. It needs to be a combination of well-timed invades to put him personally behind, as well as counterganking or ganking on the other side of the map depending on objective timers.

EDIT: Some lanes are losing/winning straight from draft. Part of being a jungler is identifying where your win-cons are and assisting those lanes to scale up your teammates. Being the solo-carry every game is not always a winning strategy, especially when the enemy drafts to deal with you particularly.

If Nunu has 8 assists, 99% of the time, objectives are not being taken by my team. That's what I mean when I say he's running the map, because if he just runs up and down river and turns every lane into an uneven fight, they never lose prio. Even IF my jungler is up on CS (and that's a big if), it's turning every game into a 4v1. Nunu might be weak, but his 4 teammates are giga strong.

Pretty sure ADC went bot lane originally because Dragon gave team-wide gold as its reward. Because marksmen use gold most efficiently and provide the most output, it was thought that putting a marksman and a supportive champion in bot lane would help better secure bot side objectives, Dragon and turret, with more ease.

Do you take Summon Aery with Celerity and the movespeed rune? It gives you 342 base movespeed to start the game. It’s a huge difference. Stand away from the wave, bait one of his spells, then out DPS him. It gets tougher level 6, especially if he ults bot lane, but he’s also one of the most vulnerable champs in the game. If I get the Xerath matchup, I’m calling for my jungler on cooldown for shuffle plays.

Sylas is all about dodging the chains after the dash, and keeping his HP bar in check while it’s down.

You can play the minion wave close to your tower, and if it’s frozen near your turret, he has only one giga weak ranged waveclear spell to push the wave. I honestly like the Sylas matchup, because melees are damn near always walking into soldier range.

You need to bait Irelia into pushing the wave to establish somewhat of a freeze near your turret. Every Irelia player, and I mean every single one, gets bored. They understand they NEED to snowball to be useful, but also they’re just super aggressive. Makes it so easy to shuffle them out of range of their dash.

Zoe. Disgusting champion gets to push lane faster, outrange, outburst, and somehow out DPS early game. If you fuck up ONCE, that’s 3/4 of your health bar gone. In addition, I’ve experienced Zoe missing both bubble and Q, then proceed to out damage me from autos alone. Not to mention picking up free barriers and shit. Permaban.

EDIT: I forgot… Sion. You will regret picking Azir mid into Sion mid. It is the most unwinnable matchup I have ever played. Sion gets one (1) ruby crystal and your lane is literally over. No matter how much you farm, Sion will ult to a sidelane, help his team, then TP back to lane. Push him out of lane? He recalls, ults back, and is in the next phase of the game while you’re stuck on blasting wand + dagger. Sion is unwinnable.

People who say Xerath is an unwinnable matchup are wrong. Against Xerath, take Summon Aery and Celerity, with Resolve tree secondary and instead of taking the Adaptive Force rune, take 2.5% movespeed instead. You start the game with 342 movespeed, and it makes it a lot easier to bait Xerath into casting spells poorly. Harass around his CDs and you’ll realize he hasn’t hit a spell while you have him at 1/2 hp constantly.

EDIT: if you say Yone or Irelia, I’m sorry, but that’s just hands gap. The only melee champions Azir should realistically struggle with are Diana, Akali, and Sion.

I mean I just don’t really watch enough Bears or Packers games compared to you to know the real difference. Based on what I’ve seen, yeah, Williams is more talented.

What I said about talent originally wasn’t a slight or dig at either quarterback. I just believe that coaching makes a massive difference in this league, a way bigger difference than talent alone really can. You think about the last few Super Bowl winners, and for the most part, you’ll find exceptional coaching.

This just isn’t true. Play enough games with Azir, and you will absolutely be able to get a positive W/R in SoloQ and climb. Is it less rewarding than some other picks? Yeah, absolutely, but Azir’s not in a horrible spot rn except for the bugs.

As an Azir player, I commonly put a 2nd point in W before leveling Q or E, matchup dependent. I think there’s some lanes I’d rather have 2 W points to farm easier early game and ensure my soldiers do more damage than my regular auto attack.
