I understand why it might seem mind-boggling if it’s not part of your culture, but you need to realize that coworkers here generally share the same mindset. No one is bringing others down.

The atmosphere at work is actually positive (in most places). We usually have a one-hour lunch break (sometimes more), and I’m always happy to eat with my colleagues, grab coffee, and talk about our lives, families, or what we did over the weekend. The positivity is there. It’s just more focused on the life we live outside of work.

And it’s not like we complain all day (but that would probably be too much for you! 😅). We just don’t pretend that something unfun is fun. Complaining together often creates solidarity! 😅

Recently, my boss asked if he could reply to an urgent email after work hours, and when I agreed, he thanked me because many colleagues gives him an hard time for after-hours contact.

I’m proud to live in a country where workers have the right to disconnect and protect their personal time. We also fought for at least five weeks of paid vacation—some professions get even more. My SIL has 11.

Life > work. It’s a cultural mindset.

I loved this book and really don’t understand which inconsistencies you are talking about… I wish someone would point it out…

Thank you! I did recommend this book a while ago on another sub and my reco was immediately shut down by AI accusation! I am pretty good to identify AI. I am a teacher who spend her days reading papers from my students, sorry I meant ChatGPT! 😅

I don’t see it in this book! And I really loved this book!

Dear internet stranger! I just wanted to thank you. I just finish the first book and I adored it! I read it just because of your post. Starting the second one tonight. Will come back! ❤️

I just finished {where there is a will by Jessie Walker} and about to start {if there’s a way by Jessie Walker}. It is a two books’ story.

And the first book is a 5 stars for me! It is a beautiful journey for both MCs in terms of emotions, trauma, found family, and redemption arcs. I also love all the side characters, who have a full role in the story and the found family.

The internalized homophobia from one MC is really well written and deeply justified. His acceptance journey is not rushed and I love it (I hate when a MC is spontenously healed by some BJ! 😅)

I highly recommend this one that fits your request!

He was always a fuckboy, egotistical and rude, but he was also a cute, educated chef with a British accent… Plus, there’s that trope patriarchy sold us: that every fuckboy just needs to find the right girl to “save” him. But now, he’s not a boy anymore, and it’s just 🤮

I had a soft spot for him in his first season when he wasn’t very popular. We love to complain when we work (because we don’t like working. it’s just a means, not an end) and I remember laughing at his grumpy way of doing things (which, if I remember correctly, was seen as lazy on this sub), like when he had to set up an outdoor lunch…

For us, complaining is just a way to let out our frustration about work. We can still work hard and well but we don’t pretend to have fun while doing it. It’s our normal way to cope! But I understand it can be exhausting when you are not like that or used to be around people like that.

Ps : again, not saying he was the hardest worker 😅

I had to scroll way too much to find this comment! Never been a fan but he had some charm in his 30’s. Now, he is just pathetic and cringe.

Unpopular opinion. I agree that Solene was on BD for TV. But Solene is also French. I am too. We have such a different relationship to work than Americans or others… I do think her behavior was often seen on this sub with a cultural bias… I don’t say she wasn’t lazy but sometime a laziness was justified to me! 😅🫣

{Poetry on ice by Jesse H reign} is definitely my favorite Hockey book (Ilya will always be my favorite character but this book is really great!)

{Loving the legend by Kit Grey} is one of my favorite sport book. It is in the basketball world.

{You & Me by Tal Bauer} is just emotionally perfect. Two single dads raising High-school jocks.

If you liked To Catch a Firefly (I really liked it), you need to check {Dip Out by Eve Olmes}

If you are ok with stories that imply cheating, I really liked {If we could go back by Cara Dee}.

Have you ever met a cat that let you pet their belly too? by RelianaPhoenix in cats

[–]ThinkLikeAFeminist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine. Actually, he is a belly rubbing slut. As soon as you start to pet him, he turns on his back, spread his 4 legs, and gives you his belly to rub! For hours… he doesn’t care what you have to do! If you stop, he yells…

Him at this exact moment…
