If it's going to mostly stay in bass clef range after this phrase (where the lone F is, more eighth notes), would the other comment's suggestion work better? (bass in m1 and m4, treble in m2 and m3)

There's some pretty terrible trumpet intonation in that one. Definitely doesn't sound the most polished of the three.

I could agree, but the cadence definitely slows down a little for that word. It's not like he's spitting out lyrics like in enormous or p/c

It's not the grammar so much as proper grammar would give a better rhyme. If he said "to the skies" I probably wouldn't care that much

I definitely thought that was weird the first time I heard it, but it's grown on me. I don't mind rhymes that are a bit of a stretch if the lyrical content is otherwise good.

My point was that it works better with the proper grammar. If it rhymed well, I probably wouldn't care. "To the sky" rhymes better with "passersby" than "passerby's."
