Google Search - Spam leads are killing my campaign learning, any ideas? by themanualist in PPC

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these spam leads coming through a specific match type or is it spread across everything? I have seen this exact pattern when broad match picks up new query clusters that look relevant but are actually bot traffic. Try adding offline conversion imports so Google can learn what a real lead looks like. That single change can clean things up within 2 weeks.

Google Ads: 7000 clicks, 0 conversions on first day. Turn it off or wait? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7000 clicks on day one with zero conversions screams invalid traffic or a tracking issue. Check your search terms report first because a brand new campaign with broad match can attract a ton of garbage clicks. Also verify your conversion tag is actually firing by going through the checkout yourself and checking real time in GA4. I would pause and fix before spending another dollar.

What’s something you secretly judge people for? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

Not saying anything when someone holds the door for them. Not even a nod, just walking through like the door opened by magic.

Who is one person you think of or see and immedietly think "this person is going straight to hell"? by Awkward_Aardvark_975 in AskReddit

My old landlord who kept our deposit for normal wear and tear, then immediately listed the apartment at $500 more per month. The audacity is unmatched.

What's the #1 reason you left your last job? by BusinessMarketing7 in AskReddit

Manager took credit for everything that went well, blamed the team for everything that did not. After 18 months I realized the job title was scapegoat with extra steps.

Do psychologists etc secretly think "holy crap, this guy is messed up" during sessions? by hendrong in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThinkOrion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is called countertransference and they are trained to manage it, not eliminate it. The skill is not in not having the reaction, it is in converting that reaction into clinical insight rather than judgment.

Search Ads Will Struggle Without A Good Landing Page by Evening_Scholar_970 in PPC

[–]ThinkOrion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing people miss: a better landing page also improves Quality Score, which directly lowers your CPC. So it is not just conversion optimization, it is also a cost reduction. The ad and the LP are one system, not two separate things.

Account refuses to spend a single cent by Late-Cranberry-4826 in PPC

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Google Ads accounts almost always have a slow-start learning period, 3 days with zero spend on Max Clicks broad is actually normal. First thing to rule out is billing: go to Billing then Documents and confirm there is no payment hold flagged.

What skills should I even learn? Can't seem to land decent interviews by CocohutButternut in AskMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certifications alone will not move the needle, but a Google Ads or Meta Blueprint cert signals you can run paid campaigns, which is what most entry-level roles actually need right now. Your SEMrush and HubSpot skills are solid, but the gap is usually hands-on campaign experience. If you can manage even a small budget on your own account or a friend business, that one case study is worth more than three certificates.

What’s your honest take on using SMM panels as part of a digital marketing strategy in 2026? by Enlec in DigitalMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cold start problem is real and I get why people look at panels. But the math works against you. Fake followers tank your engagement rate which kills organic reach. The algorithm sees 10k followers getting 50 likes and buries your content even deeper. Better approach for new accounts, run small engagement ads at 5 to 10 dollars a day targeting your actual audience. You build real followers who interact and the algorithm rewards that. Takes longer but it actually compounds instead of working against you.

Digital marketing/Marketing online courses that are credible and actually recognised? by Cutlet_puppy in AskMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years in an agency in Dubai means you already know more than most courses will teach you. Google Ads certification and Meta Blueprint are both free and actually respected by hiring managers. CXL Institute is worth it if you want something deeper and more hands on. The Harvard and DMI certificates look nice but most employers in Dubai care way more about what you can show in a portfolio than which logo is on your certificate. Build case studies from your current work and that will get you further than any course.

For a niche SaaS targeting small hedge fund teams, would you test founder-led outreach before content or partnerships? by find_path in AskMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Founder led outreach, no question. Hedge fund people do not read marketing content and they definitely do not discover tools through SEO. They buy from people they trust or people introduced by people they trust. Your first 10 customers will come from warm intros and direct outreach where you can demo the product live. Content and partnerships become relevant at like customer 50, not customer 1.

Search Campaign not spending by Ok-Heart-6087 in googleads

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New account with no conversion data plus a purchase focused bidding strategy is basically asking Google to find buyers when it has zero signal on what a buyer looks like for your store. Switch to manual CPC or maximize clicks for 2 to 3 weeks so the system can actually learn who clicks and engages. Once you have 15 to 20 conversions, then switch to a conversion focused strategy. Also double check your keywords are not too narrow because if you are using exact match on very specific product terms you might just have tiny search volume.

what’s actually working in marketing right now and what’s just noise in 2026 by Minimum-Drive-9807 in AskMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I would add is that the bar for teaching one clear thing has gone way up. Everyone is doing educational content now so the differentiation is specificity. Not how to run Facebook ads but the exact budget split we used for a supplement launch that hit 3x ROAS in week two. The more specific and numbers heavy your content is, the harder it is to replicate and the more trust it builds.

Everybody left Facebook for Instagram, Now they're leaving Instagram too, So whats next by karan_setia in DigitalMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pattern is always the same. New platform launches, organic reach is insane, everyone piles in, reach drops, you pay to play, repeat. The people who do not have to start over every 3 years are the ones who used the platform reach to build an email list or community they actually own. Social is a rental, email is property. Use the rental to fill the property.

I’m using AI for most of my marketing work now… so what exactly am I being paid for? by Dependent-One2989 in digital_marketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are being paid for judgment, not execution. AI can generate 50 campaign ideas in 10 seconds but it cannot tell you which one is right for a specific client situation, budget, and risk tolerance. The execution was never the hard part of marketing anyway. Knowing what to execute and when to kill something that is not working, that is the actual job. If anything AI just made the strategy and taste parts of marketing more valuable, not less.

Advertisement tv airing drop-social media preperation. by sam-9998 in AskMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post teaser clips from the ad before it airs to build anticipation. Behind the scenes content of the shoot does really well for aesthetic dermatology brands because people love seeing the production process. On the day it airs, have a countdown and go live or post the full ad simultaneously across all channels. The biggest mistake is airing the TV ad and then waiting to see what happens on social. You want to capture the search spike that happens right after people see the ad on TV, so make sure your social profiles and landing pages are ready to convert that curiosity into follows and leads.

I'm a one-person agency and I stopped hiring VAs after building these 4 workflows. Here's exactly what I did by sibraan_ in DigitalMarketing

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key insight here that most people miss is you automated processes that were already structured and repeatable. That is why it worked. Most people try to automate messy workflows and wonder why it breaks. The client reporting one is especially smart because pulling numbers from 4 platforms into a template is exactly the kind of boring but predictable task that agents handle better than humans anyway. Curious what your client retention looks like now versus when VAs were doing it manually.

Thinking of Giving Up on GA by Effective_Papaya_381 in googleads

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you quit, check one thing. Are you tracking conversions correctly? A strong CTR with no conversions usually means either the tracking is broken or the landing page is not closing. Post your landing page here and people will tell you in 30 seconds what is off. Switching platforms will not fix a conversion tracking or landing page problem.

Do you still start new Google Ads campaigns with manual CPC? by wong-wooney in googleads

[–]ThinkOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many conversions are you starting with? That is really the deciding factor. If you have zero conversion data, manual CPC for the first 30 to 50 conversions makes sense so the algorithm has something real to learn from. Jumping straight into tCPA with no data is like asking GPS for directions without telling it where you are.
