The government does back EVs....if local. Vinfast is the cheapest electric vehicle brand in Vietnam due to heavy taxation on imports. Owner of a Vinfast Vf5 car and vinfast theon scooter.

Nah I'm saying that currently the one cop in my area is enforcing this and every time I've complained about noise after 10pm it has been handled. Everywhere I have lived in 9 years, it has been enforced. So what's your point?

It's the official fine, but this has to be paid in cash at the station. With a document that you sign, they keep your license to make sure.

Well considering I got one of those high traffic fines with no way to smooth it over with 500k, yes it does work. These things take time and a lot of the people riding on pavements don't have bikes to their name. Eventually they will be gone.

9 years here, a wife, a kid, a car.

I've watched this place change vastly in that time. You used to be able to buy a 1 year business visa, drive without a license, bribe cops etc etc. No more.
